December 9, 201213 yr Hello Everyone I have been a long time follower of these forums and although I do not post all that much I feel compelled to post today. For those interested, there was a post in the 777 forum that resulted in a 30 day ban for a first time poster. I will let you all read what he had to say but imo this banning is totally unjustified and inconsistent with other posts in these forums. To make matters worse, a post echoing this opinion has recently been removed, I suspect by a moderator who was made to look pretty silly and inconsistent by his ban of the original poster. This deleted post was, in my opinion and obviously quite a few others, totally justied in this case and is exactly why our hobby is indeed in big trouble. We have the rediculous comments about when, where and why a particular product is going to be released and is a result once again, of the lack of a simple update from the PMDG crew. It doesnt take long for an update every once in a while. The lack of an update from PMDG results in purile posts that have turned these forums into a joke of late. Stephen, I am very disapointed the earlier post was removed from this forum, it does not become you. There was nothing offensive about it but perhaps embarrased you. If you wish to ban me too that is also your option however you do seem to be letting the moderation powers get to your head a little. The original poster in the 777 forum did not break any rules, he didn't say anything rude and its the complainers out there that need some serious help. I have also followed your posts on the FTX forums in years gone by and the unofficial forums here as well and several decisions of yours in recent times have to be questioned. I will leave this to other users of the forum to consider the issues I raise. December 9, 201213 yr So this is just a complaint about a product you haven't paid for but somehow feel they owe you an update? Am I reading this wrong? Richie Walsh

December 9, 201213 yr I usually avoid these types of topics like the plague, however I will take the time to give you an honest opinion. Any and all questions, comments, and concerns regarding site moderation should be made in private using the forums PM system. I guarantee the admins of this [and every forum] will be more understanding of your concerns if you pose these questions in private. It shows that you respect them enough not to put them on blast in front of all the other users in a public forum, and they'll be more willing to give honest, open opinions when the entire forum isn't reading what they write. December 9, 201213 yr I feel compelled to post that this isn't so much a free speech issue as an issue with a specific staff member. I understand there is no free speech on these forums, and since they're privately owned and operated, the staff may do as they wish. However, the rules should apply equally to everyone, and be applied equally to everyone. The base of trust in the staff and the website as a whole is eroded bit by bit if the staff apply the rules willy-nilly and go on power trips, which eventually ends badly for everyone involved. For the update-whiners: go find something else to do. I only posted once in an update thread that I recall, and it was a(n) (obviously) satirical post. There are plenty of things to do on the net, and if you want to complain and moan there are forums for that, too. Elsewhere.
