FSX Problematic Look

Featured Replies

Hello folks,

That FSX is quite unstable, is what everyboday knows. However, the situation in the screenshot is just too annoying. Whenever FSX has a heavy load and I switch to outside view, all light bulbs, go into black squares. And when I switch back to the VC, the textures are gone. Waiting for a minute or two solves the problem, but it is just too much annoying.

I have tried to get a new fsx.cfg but did not help much.

Is there anyway around?

Thanks.

Cai

I think you just have to be patient, and wait a little longer for the textures to load. As you note that this happens "whenever FSX has a heavy load", it will take some time until all the textures are loaded, and changing views will only make the problem become worse, if anything.

FSX isn't unstable at all. You just have a bad configuration or corrupt file. Possibly a duplicate afcad file, a corrupted texture somewhere usually an AI aircraft, or your sliders are too high.

Trying using *******'s FSX tweaking tool to setup your configuration file, don't copy and paste someone else's as each system is different. I had the same issues as my system isn't the best for FSX and using that tool and reading threads on here helped me get it very stable, no OOM errors ever and decent FPS.

I get the little black boxes from time to time - not that many but a couple or so - I've learnt to live with it. It's not a game breaker for me.

As you said I'd check your sliders, also what are your bufferpools settings? I see more of those boxes when bufferpools is set wrong..

I use FSPS's Xtreme FSX PC. Maybe that was the problem?
