Changing the default drive for disc 4

Featured Replies

Hi,Does anyone know of an easy way (short of re-installing FS2004) to change the default CD drive that FS looks for disc 4? I've recently re-configured my drives and I want to keep disc 4 in my F: drive instead of the E: drive that I installed FS2004 from. Thanks for any help,Tony

Tony - You can fix it with just a simple registry update. Locate this key (StartRunregedit): HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator9.0 And then change the "CDPath" to match the new drive letter.Doug

Tony,No special action required here. As long as FS finds the CD it will be happy. I have 3 drives, and the sim will start if it finds the CD in any of them.Doug Dawson

Hi Tony,Funny thing happened to me recently. I loaded some stuff from a CD onto my computer & forgot to remove it, but FS9 started up fine without the disc 4. I removed this CD, and FS9 started up without any disc being in the drive. Is it some glitch on my system, or after a certain date, FS9 no longer requires disc 4 to be present?Mike A.
