December 28, 201213 yr You could just use the charts that are freely available for the UK: http://www.nats-uk.e...&Itemid=13.html Not a fan of those charts - the Navigraph's are way more accurate in many ways. It's a good backup though! One thing I LOVE about Navigraph is that when I put them on my iPad in Adobe Reader, you get this option.. - Luke Pabari
December 28, 201213 yr How are they more accurate? Personally I'd always rather go with the charts issued by the controlling authority unless there are jeppesson charts, but if there are innaccuracies with the UK AIP then I'm all ears. Perhaps you mean they're more difficult to read? Callum McLoughlin Callum McLoughlin
December 28, 201213 yr How are they more accurate? I did a comparison with Jeppesen - Navigraph - NATS; Both Navigraph and from NATS have their flaws against the Jeppesen - you could just put it down to a personal opinion - Luke Pabari

Luke.....I recently bought an IPad, and was trying to figure out how to add charts onto it. Did you download all of the EGLL charts into one folder and move them into your IPad? I might try doing this with the charts at FlightAware.com, but I'm not sure of the best way to to do it. Many thanks,. Ron Priever

Many thanks,. Ron, congrats on the iPad! I put all my charts from Navigraph which are PDF files on my Dropbox account. I then downloaded the Adobe Reader app for the iPad (free) - go to Dropbox and get the chart I want, then select "Open in Adobe Reader". I have a folder within Adobe Reader with all my charts as I use them. When you buy the navigraph, all the charts are already packed into one. It automatically has the bookmarks saved too. So I'm sure you could download all the charts from an airport off say flightaware.com - but you'd need to do some work in Adobe Acrobat to put them in one file and manually create the bookmarks. What you could do however, is create a "Charts" folder in your Adobe Reader app on the iPad, then add another folder in side for which airports you want. Then open the chars of whichever website via Safari or Chrome on your iPad, then move them into the folder you want. - Luke Pabari
December 28, 201213 yr Thanks, Luke.....I use Navigraph for the FMS data, but have never used it for charts. I would imagine it could get expensive, but at least (as far as I can tell) the cost is per airport, not per chart. Do I also need to download that "nDAC" program, or is that needed if I'm going to move the charts to the IPad? Ron Priever
December 28, 201213 yr Perhaps you mean they're more difficult to read? In my opinion, definitely. I find Navigraph's use of Helvetica (at least it's not Arial!) to be aesthetically easy and pleasing. Why might Jeppesen charts be more accurate than those of the regional authority?
December 28, 201213 yr If you have and iPad, why not use FS Kneeboard 2? Has all the charts you need.
