December 29, 201213 yr win 7 64bit/ i7- 3.5 Ghz. Nvidia GTX 680. My memory fails me: Does installing SP1and SP2 require the "right click-run as admin' rule? If it does I have a problem with SP2. as this file installs from a Windows Installler package and one cannot execute this "rule". Or if it can.... I don't know how! regards Dave Wightman

December 29, 201213 yr I have never needed to do that at all in Win 7 with any program... Nor have I, but I have only one account on the computer and it's set up as an administrator account. December 30, 201213 yr Ditto, I've never done that right click "Install as", but my account is an admin account already. You should be able to just run it, and if your not an admin on your own PC, you will likely be denied access to install anything anyway. If you installed FSX without it then SP2 will be the same. December 30, 201213 yr Could you install multiple copies of FSX on the same computer if you installed them under different users? Simmerhead - Making the virtual skies unsafe since 1987!
December 30, 201213 yr Author I am puzzled by these replies! Numerous FSX forums contain detailed procedures for installation of FSX with OP Win 7.They explain that "Run as Administrator" in a drop down box when a right click on the exe extension is used is different from the Win 7 OP is installed for use with a single operator User- Administrator. This together with disabling a firewall and avoiding FSX install in .......\Program Files is essential if addons are installed outside the FSX folder and a communication channel necessary between the two programs. eg: FSC, Active Sky etc. Ref: SimStop. 26/11/2011. January 2, 201313 yr Author As a final answer to this saga I have now learned that Sp1/2 and all "msi" files auto execute as "run as administrator". Dave Wightman
