January 1, 201313 yr Im having problems with the landing tutorial where you get introduced to trimming. Im supposed to only trim and land "free handed", but when I release the flight stick, the nose gows down far and I have to use the stick again. pls help!
January 1, 201313 yr Author But it tells me to only do minimalistic corrections. That implies, that the plane is flying stable to a big extent, what it doesnt do. I have to use the flightstick, otherwise the nose goes down far and I cant get it back up with just trimming.
January 1, 201313 yr I don't remember this tutorial, but which aircraft? It sounds like you're letting your airspeed drop too low. Also, what are you using to trim with? If the nose is dropping, trim up and give a little throttle if your airspeed gets too low. Gently do this until the glideslope is stabilized. Thank you. January 1, 201313 yr But it tells me to only do minimalistic corrections. The minimal corrections refers to your joystick movements after trimming, not the amount of trim you have to put in. Don't be surprised if you find yourself trimming some of the aircraft to 50%, 80% or even 100% nose up for landing. What you need to do is trim nose up until the plane does fly hands-off. Then it only takes minimal corrections on the joystick to land. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
January 1, 201313 yr Author Its the Icon A5. I will try your recommendations when I downloaded the game to this laptop (vacation) and come back with the results.
January 1, 201313 yr Try applying more throttle. Remember, it is a combination of throttle and trim to land hands-free, except for a slight flareup with the stick at the end. This was one of the most important exercises in MSF I ever had. ICON5 at Kona Airport.
