ASE (FS2004) thinks that I'm in 01/31/2013

Featured Replies

Tried to dowload fresh weather and make a flight.

On initial load ASE said that that "using offline mean valid time: 01/31/2013 3:00 PM". The new window popped up and said that something like "3000 reports were ignored and your computer clock is set in the future"

My computer clock is just fine, but because of this glitch I cannot download fresh weather for 2013.

Last build 702 has been installed

Thanks

Dmitriy

I'm not seeing this... make sure your machine date/time is correct and make sure ASE is set to "force real time" and see what happens.

1. PC clock is just fine,

2. Yes, I have 'Force to Real Time" checked but it didn't help. ASA does not load 2013 weather.

Moreover, AS2012 that I use for FSX, has exactly the same problem.

11:34:43 AM:0019 - Using offline mean valid time: 1/26/2013 8:00:00 PM

Just to confirm that I'm not insane

Saw the same thing once today, during a restart after saving some changes. Only happened once, then on the third try it worked fine . . .

Folks,

Please do the following test for me (I fly with historical data only).

1. Turn off automatic downloads but keep updating interval for 10 minutes.

2. Go to "Historical", select 01/01/2013 and recent GMT times (Force to Real Time option will be de-selected automatically). Then click on download.

3. After the download is complete, please see if the METAR is recent. In my case, this is what I have KSEA while being tried to download 01/01/2013 17:00GMT weather

KSEA 311439Z 03201KT 10SM SCT085 BKN153 15/12 A3012

...and most importantly, as soon as you turn off automtic download and go to "Historical" page, ASE Active Date and Time will switch to 01/31/2013 (right on the top)

Hi,

Regarding AS2012, we have addressed this in the SP2 beta:

  • Fixed problem with using historical weather where invalid date and/or “over 3000 stations ignored” message can appear when using some historical downloads (1)

The problem is due to some key stations not reporting current weather (in the active date/time chosen), causing the "offline mean valid time" to go invalid.

For ASE, this will be fixed in the next ASE service pack.
