January 2, 201313 yr The Vrinsight Overhead is a beta build for the NGX. Last I attempted it, it didn't work. Anytime you start undocking gauges expect a fps hit. I stayed with FS9 when I required 4 gauges undocked as it was alot more tolerable. I wouldn't recommend Prosim/PM, or IFLY Pro for your setup as yet because it's way overkill for what you want to do.
January 2, 201313 yr I've used airdisplay, you're running an undocked panel on your ipad and it isn 't really very responsive. Tried it a few times for the cdu. Functional but i don't in practice use it - caused me too many problems. I'd only seriously use apps that connect to the fsx comp via a server program. Good examples i use include: Igmap hd (map) Remoteflight cockpit (steam gauges) A g1000 app These don't replicate the ngx 's displays - but i've recently been enjoying flying the ngx with a g1000 standing in for the pfd and igmap hd as the nd - using two ipads. No impact on frames running both of these. Add a vriinsight mcp combo 2 with linda and you have a pretty functional 'instant' home cockpit. I've got a homemade mip that i'm going to rebuild i think to fit the ipads as proper displays. Please explain more why you do not recommend iFly Pro for my cockpit? I've used airdisplay, you're running an undocked panel on your ipad and it isn 't really very responsive. Ok, this looks good but I wanted to see on the iPad exactly what is placed on the center display in B737 - engines etc. So I think I will need to use for it a monitor, but the problem is that I don't have a lot of place on my panel, so I need a 7 or 9 inch monitor. Do some one know where to get such small monitors? The iPads I can use for charts and iGMap HD as additional monitors.
January 2, 201313 yr Author Thanks all for many replies. I think I will buy a second PC, connect it to two 15,6" (pfd/nd) and two 7" monitors (upper and lower DU) and buy the iFly B737 PRO.
January 2, 201313 yr Yes, until now I've spent about 3500 EUR for my Home Cockpit. I building the home cockpit not to have it 100% realistic like 737 cockpit but because I do not want to use virtual cockpit view and mouse anymore. I need matrox tripplehead2go because the videocard has only 4 video outs, but I want to use 5 monitors. Off course if I buy second PC for 2 monitors which displaying instruments PFD/ND than I do not need the tripplehead. I believe You can try to zotech dual hdmi adaptor so you can have 5 outputs。 Soarbywire - Avionics Engineering
