January 2, 201313 yr I know the various topics related to this, but my searches did not return anything to take away my doubt. I am a layman in the hardware and hopefully help me if they think that they should delete this topic feel free. The settings below will perform well especially with FSX with NGX? Intel Ivy Bridge Core I7 3770 3.40GHz Quad Box Gigabyte (Ivy-Bridge) | GA-H61M-DS2 Kingston 4GB DDR3 1333MHz SATA 3.0 HDD 500GB 7200RPM Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 TI 2GB GDDR5 192-bit Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit Thanks everyone! January 2, 201313 yr There seems to be a lot of these types of posts today. New computers for a new year? I have somewhat similar computer specifications, and receive 20–25 frames/s at FlyTampa and FSDT airports with the PMDG B747. My settings are set to medium-high (approximately 3/4 of the maximum), and I fly using FSX default real-world weather on a 27 inch monitor. With proper settings, you should probably be able to receive a fluid 25 frames/s with PMDG aircraft. You might want to consider adding more memory. With my previous computer, in which 4.0 GB of memory were installed, I still experienced issues running McPhat Studios high-definition textures. If you feel comfortable with overclocking, do so, as doing such will definitely improve performance. Also follow tweaking approaches such as those of Bojote, Word Not Allowed, and NickN.

I concur with Owen's recommendations. That gear is adequate to run anything, in my opinion, even a vanilla configuration will suffice. Regards; Fritz
January 2, 201313 yr Hi, I also have the i7 3770K and I overclocked it to 4.5GHz which wasn't difficult do to but had a huge posetive effect on FSX performance. It allows me to run the PMDG MD-11 and normally also the NGX at locked 30fps with most slieders to the right expect water and cloud draw distance. Still there are some drops in framerate in heavy weather or at some airports, but I can live with that. As said, I also would recomend 8GBs of RAM. Jonathan John Rubens
January 2, 201313 yr And not 1333 ram, but something much faster...shouldn t cost much. You might also consider a ssd. I started with a7200 hdd but couldnt imagine going back.
January 2, 201313 yr You want the 3770"k" not the 3770. Even if you don't think you want to overclock now, don't rule out the option later. I highly recommend the h100i for a cooler. The difference between water and air is pronounced and the h100i is easy to install and low maint. I would recommend 1600 ram with cas no higher than 8. (Think g.skill) If you want to cut down on load times go with a ssd. If you don't want to spend the extra money for ssd, get a 10k rpm raptor drive. I don't know anything about that mobo, but I have had gigabyte in the past and was pleased. If I was buying a board today I would give a hard look at the asrock formula oc. I had a gigabyte gtx670 oc and LOVED it.
January 2, 201313 yr Author Thanks everyone for this help! I really fear expend a lot of money and ins't enough to run my FS. But now i'm very confident that it will provide a good simulation. Murillo Gumiero
