New freeware airport, Meigs Field, released

Featured Replies

Aerobridge and John Spahn of Maxx fame have brought us a marvelous little airport. Which MSFS simmer of yore doesn't remember Chicago's Meigs Field? Once one ot the nation's most popular GA airports, Meigs was brought to ruin in 2003 by Chicago's mayor. This iconic airport may be dead in the real world, but now it lives on in X-Plane!

Here's a link to the video:

The file is a free download from John's site:

If the want to enhance the scenery further with landmarks and a recognizable Chicago skyline, go to Ted's Scenery:

It's really quite fantastic!

Enjoy,

Tom

I wish this was for FSX since I am from Chicago!

This was actually released last month: http://forums.x-pilot.com/index.php/files/file/307-aerobridge-meigs-field/

Great little airport!

Sorry, Cameron, no slight intended by not mentioning your download site. I actually found out about this little gem from another site. The important thing, I suppose, is that now more people will likely have a chance to find out about this release.

Regards,

Tom

I see somebody either did something about or replaced the transparency on the X-Plane cutout trees. Good job!
