January 4, 201313 yr I have a external hard drive where I keep my FS9 backed up and store files there that I haven't gotten a chance to install yet. While looking through some of the folders I found a folder that had 6 files in it BOG03.bgl, BOG05.bgl, BOG09.bgl, BOG0203.bgl, BOG9001.bgl, and BOGEXCA.bgl. I don't know where these file came from or if they go to a scenery or a plane. Does anyone have a idea what these files are for or what they go with? (the folder was named New Folder, so I guess I saved these files and didn't renamed the folder to say what they were for)

(the folder was named New Folder, so I guess I saved these files and didn't renamed the folder to say what they were for) They are not standard, Microsoft FSX bgl files that came with FSX. They must belong to some addon. You could try opening them in NOTEPAD, turn on "word wrap" and look for any recognizably words among all the apparently random characters. This may give a clue as to what addon they belong to. If there are any Readable words, they will probably be on the first screen (start of the file). You might see some .DDS filenames, that might give you a clue as to what addon these .bgl files came from WARNING: Be very careful NOT to re-save the file, when you exit Notepad. DO NOT SAVE FILE at all, even on EXIT !! Note: There is an Airport called BOGO in the Philippines. Maybe it's an Airport Scenery addon for BOGO ??
January 4, 201313 yr I suppose you knew they are not FSX files  Based on the filenames they look like scenery files created with Ground2k4. You should be able to disassemble the files with http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=27375 Open the outputted .sca files with notepad and you can see the lat/lon coordinates which should give you an idea of what they are for. regards, Joe The best gift you can give your children is your time.
January 4, 201313 yr Author Thanks for the tips guys. I found out these files go with Virtualcol Colombia scenery for SKBO. Now does anyone know where these files go? I looked and these files are not installed in my sim. I had this scenery installed for a long time (I bought it soon after it came out) and I don't even have the exe file or the product password to re install the scenery.
January 5, 201313 yr You could put them in ...\FS9\Addon Scenery\scenery to test them out. If they work OK then you could create a new scenery folder for them and add it to the Scenery Library. There is a chance they will not work without the rest of the package. regards, Joe The best gift you can give your children is your time.
January 8, 201313 yr Usually Virtualcol installs all their sceneries in Addon scenery\scenery, so Joe's suggestion could work. The other thing is that I don't recall ever seeing those files. Which version do you have? 2005, 2007 or 2011? Depending on this, you may be able to contact the developer. January 8, 201313 yr Author I finally had a chance to test those files, when I did all of the default lightpoles, signs, and telephone poles can back into the scenery. Very strange. I am probably just going to leave the files out I guess. Usually Virtualcol installs all their sceneries in Addon scenery\scenery, so Joe's suggestion could work. The other thing is that I don't recall ever seeing those files. Which version do you have? 2005, 2007 or 2011? Depending on this, you may be able to contact the developer. I have this version of Virtualcol's SKBO http://secure.simmarket.com/colairports_bogota-intl-skbo-v2.phtml I had it for a long time now. I bought it shortly after it came out.
January 8, 201313 yr Now I get why I didn't remember these files: this scenery is not by Virtualcol, but ColAirports (a different developer).
