I wrote to forum technic before about "why I can't see forum title, just I can see topic starter instead topic header or title", I never get any reply message to my email!

 

So, I wanted to ask you once again becouse I can't "read" any message title for searching and solving the problem.

 

I'm IE8 user on XP-SP3. I asked to my friends about his problem, they said that " many browser shown titles not topic starters, except IE". I'd like to know what is problem or what happened on AVSIM forum? I've been here since avsim founded but first time I can't read the forum excepts unexpected events such as maintenance or else!

 

There is no any option to shown forum(topic) titles in profile settings or anywhere (if there is, believe me I couldn't find it)

 

so, I'd like to ask you, the problem is on your side or mine side. Must I change my browser to seen forum?

Yes, there are numerous other posts about IE8 incompatibility waiting to be read.

So I don't think so change to browser becouse of last time chrome has been crashed to my computer, firefox also mixed up all my favorites while transferring!(Thanks god, I had backups!). IE maybe not perfect but still is usuable and Avsim must be find a solution on this issue. Still many people using IE8 with simple and does work XP (if I had chance, I would like to use win98!)

 

Anyway, I think nothing changes for Avsim, a forum member in or out

Were it possible to magically make IE8 work again after all the months that have passed since it was first reported, it would have been done already.

 

The easiest solution is to update your browser to IE9.

Perhaps there is a magician at work! Today, on IE8, I can once again see the forum topic titles!! Whether IE8 is supported or not, something changed. I'll check on another PC to see to see if I have the same behavior.

Unfortunately that isn't possible for those running XP. You need Vista or higher for IE9.

I validated I can also see the Topics again on a 2nd box, so looks like there was a change either via MS updates or server side.

I'm pleasantly surprised, I can see again the title of the topics with IE8 (Windows XP3) !

 

This is a very good thing ! I hope it will continue !
