January 9, 201313 yr Good morning everyone, I've got a couple questions on NADP. First, what determines either the use of NADP1 or NADP2 for a given flight. Is it based on company policy or is there a location on a particular departure chart that requires all aircraft to comply with it. Furthermore are all departures based off of these procedures even in areas that don't necessarily need noise abatement. January 9, 201313 yr Commercial Member From what I understand, here in the States, most locations don't use an official NADP profile. Most are dictated by company SOP, and are generally across the board. For a while, DCA had some addendum in the A/FD saying something related to a particular noise departure procedure, but I haven't seen it in a few years. Now it's just "depart over the river," essentially. Kyle Rodgers
January 9, 201313 yr The Navigraph NDAC charts carry the NADP information, certainly within Europe where applicable. Use it quite frequently.

January 10, 201313 yr Author Thanks for the information everyone, that's been very insightful especially the link Matt that's awesome! To keep pestering a bit does anybody the SOP's for either SWA or DAL concerning reduction and acceleration height?? And Alex isn't that video demonstrating a mix between both procedures? Maintaining v2 + 10-20kts to around 3000 ft agl (nadp1) before lowering the nose and accelerating to a flaps up speed of 205 kts (napd2) until engaging vnav at what looked like 5500MSL.
