August 16, 200421 yr I thought originally that my stutters were limited to the PMDG 737, but I'm getting awful stutetrs all over. The mouse even stutters as I try to move it across the screen (very frustrating!!) I used to get smooth performance, but the past couple weeks, it's been awful. I've tried deleting the FS9.cfg to let it build a new one, but no good. I've tried tons of tweaking with RivaTuner with no success. Anyone have any suggestions? Here are my specs...Athlon XP 3000+GeForce 4 Ti 44001024 MB RAMWestern Digital 40 GB 7200 RPMDirectx 9.0cWindows XP Homelots of FS add-onsTim

August 16, 200421 yr I downloaded the latest VIA 4 in 1 drivers for my Asus A7V8X-X Is that what is meant when one says to download the latest "motherboard drivers?" But after installing that and re-generating the FS9.cfg, it would seem the stutters are mostly gone, but still there a little bit
August 16, 200421 yr Yes, good job! Now, the remaining stutters could be many things. Any more details?Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
August 16, 200421 yr Well, I just read to turn off things like AGP fast write in BIOS...So, I'll give that a try...Thanks for your help. I know the posts about stutters are realllly old.Tim
August 16, 200421 yr You might have a trogen running in the background on your computer. Run your virus scanning software to find out. Since IE is so prone to attacks I switched to using Mozilla Firefox... I used to get this kind of thing all the time... FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR
August 16, 200421 yr Well, I'll try that too, but I turned off AGP performance control and AGP fast-write and I picked up 10-15 FPS, so I'm pretty happy again. Thanks both you guys...TIm

August 16, 200421 yr Go into your BIOS and go over to the advanced tab, then go to Chip Configuration. It should be listed in that menu if I remember correctly. (I have the same mobo)
August 16, 200421 yr Author David-How do you run a scan for spyware? Thanks, Howard Jetline Systems: Intel 8th Gen Core i7 8700K (4.8GHz Overclock); GTX 1080 Ti; LG Curved UltraWide 3440x1440 Monitor .
August 16, 200421 yr Hi Howard,I am not David, but there are many good freeware scanners out there. One is Spybot.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
August 16, 200421 yr Author Jim thanks, I am going to give it a try. Howard Jetline Systems: Intel 8th Gen Core i7 8700K (4.8GHz Overclock); GTX 1080 Ti; LG Curved UltraWide 3440x1440 Monitor .
August 17, 200421 yr download and run first spybot then ad-aware. both freeware programs do great jobs at different parts of the spyware menace. Also try lowering your texture bandwidth multiplyer in fs9.cfg to a lower number, that should get rid of the stutters. try 5 points lower at a time or so. Also check fs9.cfg for a duplicate entry of [display] and use the 2nd entry at the topIf none of that works then update your sound and video drivers
August 17, 200421 yr Author Alex-Thanks a lot. I will give it a try. I don't know why, but the stutters just started. I've got to see what changed. Howard Jetline Systems: Intel 8th Gen Core i7 8700K (4.8GHz Overclock); GTX 1080 Ti; LG Curved UltraWide 3440x1440 Monitor .
