February 1, 201313 yr Anyone here use UT2 notice that the lighting looks strange for aircrafts flying when at an airport at night? They don't look realistic, its like a halo of light all over the night skies and it reminds me of fireflies flying all around you at night. Is this how its suppose to look or did REX screw something up with lighting? February 1, 201313 yr Seems to me that they use the default textures for lights. There are replacement textures available on several sites. I think the specific file to look at is "halo.bmp", and I think it is found in the "effects" folder. You might also consider a light package like Nick's Light Fix. Oh, and some aircraft in UT2 don't even have navigation lights, which makes seeing them at night a real challenge. February 1, 201313 yr Author Well I tried something. I went to my UT2 config app and turned off general aviation traffic and just left the commercial ones only, and that fixed all my problems. Strange how its only the GA planes that have this weird lighting and not the commercial planes. I am using shockwave 3d redux lighting for my UT2 traffic planes as well. It seems to work fine for commercial aircrafts but not general aviation ones. I checked my UT2 aircraft.cfg files just to make sure the shockwave lights were installed and the entries are all there. So why does it work for commercial planes and not ga one really is a mystery to me.
