February 1, 201313 yr Hey guys I'm looking for a utility that would allow me to add land in certain areas of Flight Simulator 2004 For example I have been downloading certain cabin areas for the Alaska area and some of them are showing up on top of water I would like a program Thats will allow me to add land underneath the cabins instead of them floating on water do to the incompatibility of ultimate Terrain USA Canada and Alaska With these specific addons. I'm actually at the moment looking into something called easy land class but find it rather difficult to use if anyone has any good tutorials for this that would be great
February 1, 201313 yr Sbuilder 9? I use SbuilderX for FSX and it seems pretty straightforward for use. I would imagine Sbuilder 9 would be similar Do not judge people until you've walked a mile in their shoes. Then at least you are a mile ahead of them when you ###### them off...
February 1, 201313 yr Commercial Member I'm actually at the moment looking into something called easy land class but find it rather difficult to use if anyone has any good tutorials for this that would be great I don't believe that you're looking for a landclass editor - all that will do is to tell FS which landclass texture is to show on what square of land, ie: I use a few different landclass editors to redefine how large a city is, or to display farmland instead of forest, or to display a clearing instead of solid forest. I think you need an application to edit the shoreline itself. How that's done, I have no idea. A resource I use for editing / creating in FS is the FSDeveloper website. However, if you're talking about scenery for Alaska, I'm guessing that you either have downloaded scenery that's meant to be used with Glacier Bay / Tongass Fjords / Misty Fjords, or else you have one of those three and have downloaded a cabein set that's not compatible with them. All three of those adjust the shorelines extensively in places. Jim Stewart Milviz Person.
February 1, 201313 yr Author Yes I have Glacier Bay, Misty Fjords, Tongass Fjords and Ultimate Alaska/Canada I've also downloaded the Misty, UT patch. And yes you are correct I may be searching for the wrong program, I would like to add some land undearneath the floating cabins that are not compatible with The above mentioned addons... Some are fictional and some utilizes my LAGO FSE enhancer. Anyone out there have a solution for this? February 1, 201313 yr Hi, For simple land poly - SBuilder for FS9 will do that... But then if you want your new land to have hills I believe you will need to add mesh underneath... To create a land poly in SBuilder - just create a poly - select the poly properties - select type as LWM - select the LWM tab - then choose the LWM Type as "Land Mask"... That should solidify the ground where your poly is located... I'm guessing the root cause is the scenery is improperly placed - probably due to the developer using default terrain instead of a more accurate terrain such as MF,TF,GB, or UT... Regards, Scott
February 1, 201313 yr Oh yeah SBuilder comes with a "How to make an island" tutorial... Just look in the help menu... Petty much what it sounds like you are trying to do... Regards, Scott
February 3, 201313 yr Note that the User Manual In Glacier Bay v2 recommends deleting certain file areas in UT Alaska and Canada to avoid conflicts with the water, land, and objects/mesh.... Lots of guidance in the Manual. Paul... B) ...!
