FSX fails to start after installing Emergency NGX

Recommended Posts

Hi Bryan,

I have been using FS2Crew NGX Voice Edition roughly since the day it was released and have enjoyed it big time. How excited was I when I received your e-mail this morning that Emergency NGX! had been released!

So, I went to your Site, purchased, downloaded and installed the software (running the installer as an administrator), activated Emergency and Voice in the Config Manager, and then this:

Tried three times, tried again after rebooting the system, and always ended there... At the first FSX start after installing Emergency NGX!, I did receive the dialog to confirm that your gauge should be used, but after that, FSX just doensn't launch and always reports this error. Any help would be much appreciated!

I'm running Win 7 64bit.

Thanks in advance,

Stefan

That's weird.

Did you change anything on your system between the time the base FS2Crew NGX was working and the time you installed Emergency NGX? Ie., install two sound cards?

Try re-installing the base FS2Crew NGX. See if it works.

If so, then re-install Emergency.

Also double check the Trouble Shooting section in the FS2Crew NGX manual.

Hi Bryan,

No, I did not change anything. In fact, I completed my last flight using FS2Crew something like 40 hours ago.

Can I (for testing purposes) simply revert back to FS2Crew without 'Emergency' via the Config Manager or would I need to re-install?

Thanks,

Stefan

Hmmmm.... I'm scratching my head... Emergency NGX is a popular product and we've got a lot of users already with no probs reported.

Please email me...

I'll help you via a Remote Desktop.

Maybe your download was corrupt or something???

The failed module name is "FS2CrewNGXVoice.GAU_unloaded", in case this helps.

I have to leave now, unfortunately. I'm going to try again later tonight.

I got it up and running now :yahoo:

The problem was my FSX default startup state which involved the NGX. I know, I know, I know, this is explicitly *not* recommended by PMDG, but it used to work fine before... :unknw:

Switched back to the Ultralight for startup, and that did the trick!

Glad you got it sorted!

However, like PMDG, I recommend to everyone that the 'trike' be the default FSX start up state.

Thing is we've had Emergency beta testers who used the PMDG as the start-up airplane, and they have no problems.

Gotta love computers :P
