February 21, 201313 yr Interesting robain , unfortunately I have installed fsx , loads of add on payware airplanes + all my sceneries , I think some of the aircraft may also write data to the disc , not sure whether fsx needs to or not , I remember reading somewhere not to install fsx on c drive for better performance hence the op being on a 240 gig vertex 3 ssd & all fsx on 600 gig velociraptor drive. thanks again to all respondents. I keep my scenery on a separate drive so I'm not worried about potential issues with turning off Write Cache buffer flushing as this option can be set on a drive by drive basis. Scenery shouldn't be writing to disk at all.
