February 26, 201313 yr Hello, Not sure if I posted this in the right place, but as the title states I've had this problem since building my pc back in Decemeber. From various threads, I read that it is best to overclock the cpu after installing FSX and the GPU, which I did. I've also done all of the tweaks to the cfg file, but that doesn't seem to solve the problem. In any scenario, my frames won't go over 30, even in cruise when there isn't much scenery loading or in areas where it's not heavily dense with scenery. Below is the setup that I have. I am also running Nvidia Driver 310.70. Assistance is much appreciated! i5 2500k 4.5Ghz OC GTX 660Ti 2GB Asus P8-Z77V Noctua NH-D14 Cooler 256Gb Crucial M4 SSD 500 GB Western Digital Blue Moses Velasquez
February 26, 201313 yr Why do you want it to go higher than 30fps? Which tweaks are you referring to?
February 26, 201313 yr Author Shomin, I am refering to the tweaks I found on this forum that was made by a fellow Avsim member found here: http://forum.avsim.n...guide-for-fsx/. The reason why I am questioning it is because no matter what aircraft I fly in any area it won't go above 30 fps. Even when I lower my settings significantly it still locked under 30 and I have fps set to unlimited. Moses Velasquez
February 26, 201313 yr That tweak locks your frames at 30fps. Thats what you want for best performance, UPPER_FRAMERATE_LIMIT=30 BTW. shomin kankaku means "commoner's sensibilities" in Japanese.
February 26, 201313 yr Author Woops read that wrong, Rendi. I guess I'll just stick with what I have. Thanks though! Moses Velasquez
February 27, 201313 yr Curious, where did you read that one should wait with the overclock ´till after FSX install? Doesn´t quite make sense to me, since OC is set in BIOS, but I´d like to know the rationale. And congratz on a steady 30  "I´ll rather be down here wishing I was up there than be up there wishing I was down here"
