February 28, 201313 yr hallo my friends! I am thinking about buying the FSCommander, and I would like to get some feedback concerning this product. I would like to start with a general question: - What advantages does FSX Commander has in comparison to the standard "flight planer" of FSX? and being more specific: - ATC Clearences come with this product? can be programmed? - Is this product compatible with PMDG products and FDC live cockpit? - What are the limits of this product? Thanks to all! felipe turbay

February 28, 201313 yr I'm not an expert user of FSC, but I use it every now and then when I want to do some airliner flights. What I say might thus not be complete and 100% correct, but I try to answer your questions as good as I can. - What advantages does FSX Commander has in comparison to the standard "flight planer" of FSX? First of all, it allows more realistic transcontinental routes (e.g. North Atlantic routes) than default FSX planner does. It also allows you to enter the waypoints/airways you want to use manually (this does not mean you have to, though). FSC is also capable of displaying SIDs and STARs, which can be helpful when it comes to selecting the right ones. Furthermore, and this leads to answering another of your questions, it allows you to export the fligthplan not only in FSX format, but also in formats that can be read by most common airliner addons (e.g. LevelD, PMDG, Aerosoft AXE, iFly, QW,...), so you don't have to enter a whole paln manually, but just enter the flight plan name in the corresponding line in the FMC, and you're ready. And something else is good here: The nav data can be updated as far as I know, so you can be pretty sure that every waypoint in FSC exists in the FMC (given that they both are up to date, or at least at the same level). Another feature of FSC is that it displays airports (not sure if it shows taxiway names, but for sure the gate names), so orientation at airports might be easier. There is a demo version of FSC, which can be found here, so you might give it a try before you finally decide. Best regards, Flo Florian
February 28, 201313 yr I used FSCommander a lot for flight planning before I got ProATCX which includes an excellent flight planner and moving map.
