March 2, 201313 yr Hi there, I am having some moments of frustration (mind you, I'm used to these around FSX *sarcasm*) with EZdok camera, as I can't get some of the things to work. I like EZdok for it's dynamic camera system, but the setting up of it is rather difficult I was wondering how I could fix these: 1. When I press and hold SPACE, I can look around with my cursor. But almost about a second as soon as I stop moving my cursor, while still holding down the space button, the view changes back to the default. Default being where it was before I moved the camera. Is it supposed to do this? Or is it supposed to stay where I stopped moving? I tried to disable Middle Mouse Button in the settings, and that worked with the space button, but after unpausing, it would just send always the camera into the pilot's seat and you could not move it. It would change it back to the default again - this case, the seat 2. When I press SPACE in for example outside view using EZdok, the view returns back to the cockpit, and I can't figure out why? 3. I'm trying to use EZdok with FSRecorder to shoot videos. Trouble is, I usually do it through playback, and the keys largely interfere with the controls. I noticed that in FSRecorder you can't change PageUp and PageDown, buttons which basically move the stages of the recording. You can in EZdok however, so I went and changed it to Numpad buttons - it wouldn't work. I changed it to Shift+PageUp and Shift+PageDown, still, didn't work. Confusing and annoying. How can I compromise between the two? 4. In the spot view outside when using the middle mouse button, I can turn the camera sideways but I can't pan it up and down at all. Any offers? Kamil Bonczyk
March 2, 201313 yr Ezdok takes over all fsx view controls. Spacebar is an fsx control so is conflicting. In the vc use ezdok's middle mouse function. In the standard fsx outside views like spot and locked spot I do use the spacebar because as you've found out the middle mouse does not work right. I think it acts this way because it is an fsx view and isn't controlled by ezdok. Again bc those are fsx views you can't move the camera around with arrow keys and page up page down. Those functions are for ezdok vc and external views. For ezdok external views you can use ezdok's middle mouse but not spacebar. That's why it's shifting back to the vc I think. Make sure there are no view commands assigned in fsx like a s shift-a shift-s. spacebar excepted of course. Brent Baker
March 2, 201313 yr If you actually read the manual included with EZCA, you would see why you are having this problems. Like dcgator29 says, EZCA takes almost total control over the camera system in FSX so you have to disable all of the default keys and buttons for panning your view around (default space, as well as the hat switch on your joystick or yoke)
March 2, 201313 yr Author If you actually read the manual included with EZCA, you would see why you are having this problems. Like dcgator29 says, EZCA takes almost total control over the camera system in FSX so you have to disable all of the default keys and buttons for panning your view around (default space, as well as the hat switch on your joystick or yoke) I figured that out. I just cant see the space button mapped in FSX, could you point me towards which one I should remove? And for me anyway, EZdok poses the biggest issue with FSRecorder, and it is not mentioned anywhere how to work around it. Kamil Bonczyk
March 2, 201313 yr It is mouse view direction on. Delete it and then relaunch FSX and reassign so you get rid of the hold down modifier. I only use it to pan around in spot or locked spot. I couldn't get the middle mouse to work correctly. Same problem as you; won't pan up or down. Brent Baker
March 13, 201313 yr Author I have resolved some of the issues, however some still exist, and I'm finding a refund might be necessary, it is a hard software to set up. Before I'll do that though, I'm convinced that the brilliancy of this addon can still be unleashed entirely. Now I have this issue, where if I switch a view, and I can't work out when or at what stage, since no pattern seems to follow, mouse look appears to be jammed on for no reason. The issue is, I haven't enabled it on the button. Even disabling and enabling EZCA doesn't resolve the problem. Basically, FSX is unbearable with this... Kamil Bonczyk
October 12, 201312 yr ez dock is very easy to use first thing you need to do is delete all you views hot keys on the sim itself FSX or 9 next start making cameras then you can make hotkeys on the keyboard the left window is for the cockpit the middle for outside the aircraft and the last for world views i personally i have 6 hotkeys labeled on my keyboard and make the same views for all the planes i fly also is a good idea to read the manual and from what i told you you shouldnt have problems i hope this helps happy flying
October 12, 201312 yr To use spacebar, hit '3' on your numpad. It will disable EZCA so the default views system won't collide with it.
