March 13, 201313 yr Hi all, has anyone used the ENBseries tool? Does it work, is there a benefit if so could someone point me in the direction to download it. Cheers Rod.
March 14, 201313 yr ENB? Seriously you've never heard of it?! If you have a strong computer with a good cpu, it will mess with the colors of the simulator to make it more realistic

March 14, 201313 yr Lol, also works on weak computers with weak CPU's. Works well for some, while some people cant use it causes CTD's. Works well for m Before I built my custom PC I used ENB on my old desktop and it lagged the heck out of it on fs2004. Now on my new pc it runs smooth with fsx
March 14, 201313 yr Moderator I've been using ENB with and without a custom palette for a few years now on my computer which is dated by today's standards and it works well for me with no lag or drop in FPS. For what ever reason like Jim mentioned, not all users experience the same. Some get CTD's, low FPS or other anomalies. It seems to be one of those things that with the wide variety of operating systems, drivers, GPU's, .cfg tweaks, etc., that we all use, there are all sorts of different experiences we get using ENB. I consider myself fortunate to be able to use it with no issue since it has completely changed the look and feel of FSX for me. When I turn it off I just dont like the way the sim looks dark and dreary, with no life. I also don't like some of the combinations of settings/palettes some use like the ones that they use at ORBX for posting previews as its a little to bright and overly bloomy for me, but with some experimentation you can make it look really good. I found a good one over at the REX forums by a user named americanflyers called 24hour ENB that seems to be the best one I have tried yet. I comes with a custom palette that also make night a little darker while not making it so dark you cant see the panel at night. I've probably tried 15 different palettes and close to 50 different ENB.ini w/no palette adjustments, and the one by americanflyers is hands down the best one I have tried yet. Although looks can vary depending on your monitor calibration and the sets of sky textures for dawn/day/night you use. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
March 14, 201313 yr I use it. Works well. I've heard some people like SweetFX more. I've also heard of folks that use both together. You might want to try SweetFX first. Here's a link to ENB that's available over on the REX forum...the link is in the first post. http://www.realenvironmentxtreme.com/forums/index.php?/topic/15329-24-hour-enb-download-included/ I don't have a link for SweetFX. There have been some recent threads on it tho. EDIT: I take it back. Here's a link to SweetFX. http://www.guru3d.com/files_details/sweetfx_shader_suite_download.html There's a nice screen shot that demonstrates what an app looks like with ENB and a second that shows ENB+SweetFX. There's a GUI available for it too, I think. Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. A great landing is when you can reuse it." i9 64GB RAM, GTX-5090
March 19, 201313 yr Author Thanks guy's but I cant seem to get a good mix with ENB as I've tried many different settings but it all seems to be to dark especially in the VC mode of the NGX, and could someone point me the right direction for a default cfg file of ENB. Cheers Rod.
