Whether this was posted before or not, I saw a commercial about London City Airport on YouTube.

Suckling Airways? Really? That's just an interesting name for an airline!

 

They fly between the UK and Ireland along with inter-UK flights, however, this month, they will cut all services with aircraft being transferred to LoganAir.

Um....

Suckling is the name of the founders of the airline, Roy and Merlyn Suckling, so no, not so strange. They have just gone back to it's original name.

In fact, you may well find an old BBC documentary about them  somewhere. They originally started, if my memory serves me right, with offering flights from the Cumbria(Barrow) to link passengers from that county in N-W England with flights at Manchester Int'l before the train services kicked in. The husband would pilot the plane and his wife served the drinks,etc.

At first I thought it was a reference to pork.
