Are LHC Planes Good?

Featured Replies

Hi to all.

This company LHC has this small aircraft promotion: http://www.lionheartcreations.com/Lionheart_FlightSimulations.html

My question is if this company makes good planes or if there is other better options?

Thanks for the help.

I have their Epic LT.  It's a beautifully sculpted aircraft with a fps friendly VC.  It's also a deal since it works in FS9 and FSX.  It's one of my favorite aircraft and the fastest single you can get.

Hi to all.

I had the Epic LT already and the Quest Kodiak. Both are very fine planes, not in terms of system depth, though. The cockpits are similar, both feature a Garmin-style glasscockpit. The Kodiak is said to be one of the finest amphibians available.

Today I went for a bundle of Epic Victory plus Super Pacer: Victory is a VLJ but features the same Garmin cockpit. Super Pacer is an old  bush flyer's aircraft and comes with a few custom-made landing spots around Anchorage. Can't tell you much of those two, yet.

I also own the Avelina, but it's a piece of playing around with a GA airplane, mixing some BMW car into it plus a good deal of StarTrek: Not everybody's taste; you have to love it BEFORE you buy it.

For GA you should consider Carenado as an option (not so many glasscockpits); for the VLJ the Feelthere Phenom 100 is a good offer, too (more expensive, but more systems, also).

As far as the LHC Epic LT and their Kodiak are concerned, you won't be wrong, anyway.

What happened to AVSIM

I have the Pacer and it's a very good airplane.  Perhaps the best at modeling taildragger ground handling of all the many taildraggers I have.  I have a soft spot for it, though, because of it's resemblance to a Chief. It has a nicely aged VC and oozes classic airplane.

I have the Pasped Skylark as well, and it's a totally fun airplane to fly.  Definitely a keeper in my overcrowded hangars.

While the Kodiak is older, and so has less system depth, it has a lot of nice models and is a great bush plane.

Those are the only ones I have, but yes, I think Bill makes very good aircraft.  I like them better than Carenado, whose aircraft often look nice, but are a bit bland in flight modeling.

Thanks for the advice to all.  I bought the Epic LT and the Kodiak.

Just a quick comment on the Epic Victory and the Piper Pacer (since JF Pick&Mix is continuing for a few more hours):

I can't really get the hang out of the E.V.: It feels to be very overpowered and response to flight controls is sluggish. I'm gonna stick to my Phenom 100 (feelthere, not included in that P&M offer and at a steeper price).

The Piper Pacer is very stable and responsive. A reliable plane that's fun and easy to fly. I never ever greased a taildragger (other models are included, too) onto the runway so easily on my very first flight.

So I end up with three recommendations (just my 2 cents, of course):

- bush-flying old-style: Piper Pacer

- bush-flying modern style: Quest Kodiak

- high-perf turbprop: Epic LT (don't mix up those two Epics!)

I have their Quest Kodiak, but I hardly ever use it. I rather like the C208, which is pretty similar, but with analogue gauges, which I prefer. The only situation I use the Kodiak for is when I need an amphibious plane and the Goose is too large.

But basically the reason I don't use it is the glass cockpit, which is a question of personal preference; the modelling itself is really great, it is up there with A2A and RealAir IMHO.

I love the Kodiak despite being Glass but the Epic LT? It's my worst payware purchase, uninstalled now. It's also been mentioned in other threads as a bad purchase. This is the first time I have heard it being praised. Though I guess for the price maybe its ok - less than half of RealAir products. To each his own I guess. That said Kodiak is great, my favorite plane in Orbx Pacific Fjords.
