  1. Thanks for sharing this info.
  2. Robin can you share your FSX settings (scenery, traffic, target fps, etc...)? Do you use add ons? I use a 7850 with an Intel i7 2600s.
  3. What about amd processors? Is there any amd processor that is worth buying for fsx?
  4. Thank you for sharing this info.
  5. DX-9. I tried DX 10, but since I use WOAI there were a lot missing textures in the AI planes.
  6. Thanks for the great explanation Charles!
  7. Thans for sharing this info Charles! Can you explain step 4 in more detail? I just want to be sure so I dont mess my FSX install.
  8. Thanks for the help to all. I will buy the BN-2.
  9. The flying I do is island hopping around the caribbean or regional flights in the US east coast.
  10. I only have money for one of those. Both are on sale this weekend. Just flight has the BN-2 for $24.99. Aerosoft has the PMDG JS41 for $35.27. Which one do you recommend? Which one is more demanding or cause performance issues?
  11. Two questions for Charles: I understand you recommend Radeon Pro, what are your concluding remarks about radeon pro suggested settings? Do you have to delete the CCC profile when using radeon pro?
  12. Well Ron I guess those are the sacrifices of marriage. Lol
  13. Hi to all! I designed and constructed (with the help of my father) this simple pilot chair / cockpit. The total cost of materials was under $60 USD. The total labor was around 8 hours (day 1: 4 hours, day 2: 3 hours, day 3: 1 hour), but it can be constructed in less time if you have all the materials available. The main materials are 1” x 1” x 20’ square tubing (2), about 8 feet of sch-40 ½” PVC pipe, difference sizes of machine screws, a piece of 2” x 4” x ½” (or ¾”) plywood, some emt tubing metal straps (8), and a few simpson strong-tie truss clips (4). The foot print of the pilot chair is 18” wide by 44” long, but it can be reduced to 30” if you don’t include the front square where the Saitek pedals fit. The design was made taking into consideration the reduced space I have around my PC and the low weight of the chair. The low weight was important because my wife can move the chair without help in case she needs to work with the computer. The chair has two modular surfaces. One where you can rest the keyboard and the other with enough space for two Saitek throttle quadrants and some extra space for the mouse or your favorite snack or beverages. These modular surfaces are very easy to install and remove. Here are some pictures: The links for the rest of the pictures: http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w293/ingcarlos26/FSX/FSXchair3.jpg http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w293/ingcarlos26/FSX/FSXchair4.jpg http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w293/ingcarlos26/FSX/FSXchair5.jpg http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w293/ingcarlos26/FSX/FSXchair6.jpg http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w293/ingcarlos26/FSX/FSXchair7.jpg http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w293/ingcarlos26/FSX/FSXchair8.jpg http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w293/ingcarlos26/FSX/FSXchair9.jpg http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w293/ingcarlos26/FSX/FSXchair10.jpg http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w293/ingcarlos26/FSX/FSXchair11.jpg http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w293/ingcarlos26/FSX/FSXchair12.jpg http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w293/ingcarlos26/FSX/FSXchair13.jpg Thanks for your attention.
  14. Thanks for the advice Bruce. I did a search but didn't find a concensus in what is the official "Fix" for this situation. Some REX users reports this issue and others don't. The suggested fix by some users is to edit the waterconstants.xml file. Changing parameters in that file appears to mitigate the problem. The things is that this solution gives some mixed results from what I read. The REX version I use is REX Essentials plus Overdrive.
  15. Well I tried the shaders 3.0 mod, but unfortunately the water was static. No wave animations. No water movement. This issue was also reported by other REX users.
  16. Thanks for the feedback Gideon and Jimmy. I will try the shaders 3.0 mod this weekend and see how it performs with my system.
  17. Well that's good to know. I have read so many posts of REX users claiming to have problems with wave animation and other REX users who had no problems at all. Thanks for answering. I was wondering why there is nothing about this mod in the tweak guide?
  18. Any forum user who combines the shader 3.0 mod with REX?
  19. Hi, Is the Shader 3.0 Mod still relevant? I have an AMD Radeon HD 7850 card. It is worth trying installing the shader 3.0 mod? Will it mess with the REX Essentials plus Overdrive performance? I found this thread, but the last post is from August 25, 2012. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/283701-bojotes-shader-30-mod-for-fsx/
  20. Check these aircraft. http://www.lionheartcreations.com/Lionheart_FlightSimulations.html They even have an special going that ends today. I got the Epic LT and the Quest Kodiak, very nice planes. Some forums users recommend the Piper Pacer and the Pasped Skylark.
  21. Thanks for the advice to all. I bought the Epic LT and the Kodiak.
