March 20, 201313 yr MPL, you are somewhat right about experimenting on our own... Without experimenting things would be pretty plan in this world... I have a ton of add-ons and have been getting better performance out of my clean install of W8 than I did with my W7 install. Sure the clean install of W8 and following information found on the internet during install could have made the difference. I am very happy with my FSX W8 install for the moment and have not come across any major road blocks as of yet. Oh and I am no fan of W8 UI by the way. I do enjoy the challenge to learn something new which keep me going. Hope you all have a great night I will be dreaming of more T7 future updates 5Take Care, Will Clark My computer: Intel 14900K, Motherboard ROR Maximus Z790 Formula, PSU Dark Power 1600, Ram DDR5 (7200) Vengeance 32GB CL38, ASUS 4090, Keyboard Logitech ASUS, Mouse ROCCAT LEADR Wireless, Corsair M.2 SSD 4TB x2, Headset Astro A50 Wireless, Microphone Elgato Wave 3, Stream Deck Elgato XL, GoXLR, Loopdeck Live, Chair Steelcase Gesture with Headrest, Case: Lian Li O11 Dynamic XL ROG White, Custom Built water cooling, Ek Lian li xl distro plate, Fittings EK & Bitspower, Monitor LG C1 48 OLED, Desk Speakers Audio Engine A5+ White.
March 21, 201313 yr Experimenting is never a bad thing, i agree with you on that. What i really ment was that if people expect addons to work on Win8 as they work in supported platform then there is a misunderstanding. Win8 is still quite new platform and devs aren't used to it and it isn't as "mature and stable" as Win7. But maybe when time passes things are going to be different. We'll see how things progress  Mikael Leinonen
March 22, 201313 yr I just recently updated my ancient 32-bit Vista machine to 64-bit Windows 8 and, so far, couldn't be happier with the results (apart from the Metro mess). On my machine, FSX performs noticeably better than it ever did in 32-bit Vista. So far, I've run PMDG's NGX & MD-11, VRS Superbug/TacPack, Milviz Sabre/T-38, and Coolsky's Super 80 & Pro. The Super 80 Pro had a severe issue with momentary hangs that was solved by, oddly enough, disabling "Check for Solutions" in Win 8's Problem Reporting Settings. I've not had any issues with my X-52 disconnecting....but FSUIPC is handling it. DCS A-10C & Falcon 4 BMS works on Win 8 too. One of these days I'll get a better rig, but it's not a priority. March 23, 201313 yr I use both the NGX and the MD-11, along with numerous other add-ons and have never had a problem running Windows 8. In fact, FSX has never run so smooth and stable for me. I know not everyone is experiencing the same with W8, but I don't want people to think its all bad. +1 R Verhallen Rick i9-14900KS OC to 5.8 Ghz | 64 GIG- G.Skill 7200 RAM | Asus ROG Maximus z790 Hero Motherboard | Gigabyte RTX 5090 OC | 47" Samsung 4K Monitor I Pimax Crystal Super 50 HMD I Varjo Aero HMD I Windows 11
March 23, 201313 yr I have Win8 on my new Dell gig and I installed an applet called "Start is back" fixed it. BTW FSX/PMDG works fine on my rig took a lot of tweaking but all good now. Windows 8? Is that the new tablet OS? Wayne Larsen
