Something very wrong with my 747-400

Recommended Posts

Hey,

I just got the PMDG 747-400X and I installed it, everything went well, no errors. I restarted my system after the install and then opened up FSX and selected the 747-400. I pressed FLY NOW and when my aircraft loaded it was like this:

What is wrong with this landing gear? I am on the ground2013-3-29_17-18-58-259.png

Another gear shot. Also, none of the control surfaces work and are locked in the position when no hydraulic power is available. All the aircraft's systems are on.2013-3-29_17-17-55-415.png

None of the Panels Work, and none of the buttons can be clicked. The throttle also doesnt move when needed. 2013-3-29_17-15-53-822.png

Main Panel. Nothing Works, Nothing visible.2013-3-29_17-15-46-993.png

More gear. For somereason, even though none of the control surfaces animate, I can still fly the aircraft around.2013-3-29_17-13-24-556.png

So any ideas? I really want to fly this thing. I have been waiting 4 years for it!

Thanks!

First check that you have FLEXNet Licencing in your processes. If you have, then you may need to submit a Support Ticket to PMDG. Where did you purchase this add-on from?

I purchased it from Aerosoft. What is FLEXNet Licensing and how do I find out if I have it? Also, I just bought the PMDG MD-11 and installed it and it works fine. I bought them at the same time and installed them one after the other.

I did a search for FLEXNet and it came up with one folder. does that mean I have it?

Hi Remy. Do you know how to bring up your Task Manager? If you do, look in there, Processes. If you bought it from Aerosoft, you will have to address your problem with them as PMDG will not give you support on this, if my memory serves me correct as you did not buy the product from them directly.

Ok thanks so much! Unfortunately my Task Manager has been disabled by the computer administrator (which is me) and I don't know how to fix that. I never disabled it in the first place.

I just fixed the Task manager. in the processes there is nothing that says FLEXNet. I will try starting FSX with the 747 loaded and see what happens

It may not exactly state FLEXNet but will be FNPLicensingService.exe

Good Luck.

I GOT IT TO WORK! almost....

Everything is perfectly fine except that the outboard airlons ( I forget how to spell that word) dont move, and are in the down position, and the Flaps dont go down, just the Fairings.

ailerons

Something is not right there. I'm just on my way SAEZ-KMCIA and I had perfect flaps going down to Flaps 20 and retracted as scheduled. Can you post some pix re:outboard ailerons?

In addition to everything that Rick said, have a look at your settings in FSX (In the main menu->settings->customize) and check that the "Advanced Animations" box is ticked.

Thanks,

Ok, here are the pictures. I went through the manual and the aircrafts systems were all working fine. All the control surfaces work except for the outboard Ailerons which are in the down position, also the flaps dont go down with the flap fairings. In addition to this the Spoilers dont go up when put up. The EICAS displays the message "Spoilers Up" and I can hear and feel the effect, but they dont physically go up.2013-3-29_21-56-12-890.png2013-3-29_21-43-6-0.png2013-3-29_21-43-3-453.png2013-3-29_21-47-4-500.png

Can you post some over-wing shots to show what you are referring to? And your first shot, nothing there seems to make sense.

The First shot was to show that the Speedbrakes are extended, but not visually. The second and third shots show the Fairings down but the flaps not down. The 4th shot shows the outboard Aileron in the down position. I will try to get some more shots

I had this error before, it's usually because of the Advanced Animations, (See my last post).

Hope you'll get flying in no time!

Thanks,
