April 4, 201313 yr Right now I'm running 306.91 nivida drivers on my 660ti do any of the later drivers give fsx a fps boost? ATP MEL,CFI,CFII,MEI. Type Ratings B-737, ERJ-190,ERJ-170
April 4, 201313 yr I've never heard of any driver giving FSX an fps boost. A good driver may give you smooth(er) performance (or stutters if it's bad) but I have yet to see an noticable fps boost in FSX only due to a driver! I am still using 301.42 which works best for me. It's really a matter of giving it a try because FSX is different on every computer and what works for one pc may not (or probably won't!) work for another. ^_^
April 5, 201313 yr FSX is more CPU dependent than the GPU. In FS9 this was the reverse. I doubt you'll see any gains in FPS with a change in display drivers. April 5, 201313 yr I always use the latest. 314.22 now. Why not? I've never had to go back to older drivers. I have an NVidia Card, and I just keep up with the latest they offer. Has worked for me for many, many years. No regrets. Stan
April 5, 201313 yr Actually, different drivers have made significant FPS difference for me in the past. I wound up testing a dozen or so once by using the same flight. I suspect that this varies based on what card you have and perhaps even cfg settings. So I doubt there is one driver that is best for all. My general driver policy, though, is not to change unless I have to.
April 6, 201313 yr Yea same here using the latest drivers with no issues at all(using 314.22) I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg
