April 5, 201313 yr Hi, I have found out that the V speeds do not work on the British Airways Virtual. I have the same panel state loaded for all PMDG aircraft and the FMS is set correctly and all takeoff speeds work correctly with the original PMDG 737 NGX - the NO VSPDS indication on the PFD goes off when I LSK the V speeds, and I get the correct takeoff callouts. However with the BA Virtual the NO VSPDS indicator in the PFD remains and the takeoff speeds are not called. Other then the paints difference, all other settings are the same for both versions. HAs anyone else had this problem with BA Virtual? If so how did you fix it? Thanks Rob
April 5, 201313 yr You can always set V-speeds manually, with the two rotary knobs above the upper middle DU. Name available upon request
April 5, 201313 yr If you get to the takeoff page and no V speeds show, then you have missed some info somewere. Was you flying the exact same route in another paint that had no problems? Did you select a departure? It needs to know the runway lenth to calculate V speeds. What about other routes with BA paint, do they work ok? Regards Luke M
April 5, 201313 yr Author I have tried another airport, no difference. The FMC is set correctly, dep runway eyc and the LSF on the Takeoff pages are double checked so that the V speeds appear twice. The only difference is the paint scheme. I know you can set the V speeds with the Speed Ref. knob, but the speeds should automatically be generated from the FMC when selected, which happens in the PMDG paint. Any other ideas? This seems to be a bug in the BA Virtual livery. Rob
April 5, 201313 yr Different liveries can have different airline options. These can be modified by yourself in the FMS "FS Setup" menu (or airline options maybe). Perhaps there's some option in there that prevents automated entries on the Takeoff data page? April 5, 201313 yr On the Takeoff Ref page (in both liveries), is QRH selected ON or OFF? Name available upon request
April 6, 201313 yr Never had any problems with this livery. Bear in mind that as the real BA don't fly NGs this livery doesn't come with an airline setup as some do so you do need to do a bit of setting up in the options yourself. The solution is probably as suggested. Best Regards, Dan Parkin.
April 6, 201313 yr I use the repaints linked to from the BAV website. No problem with V speeds with those for me. There are no airline options to follow, but they are set up in EFIS/MAP with side by side engines display to be as close to the Classic as possible.<br />
