Tutorial #1 - trim setting

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I'm new here so please be patient with me. I've bought this great addon, because flying with original FSX B737 is very simple and I want more. I've read the instruction manual and continued with Tutorial #1 (EGKK to EHAM). I'm sitting on the runway and route is set, everything seems to be fine. But when it comes to trim setting for take-off, my assigned keys and joystick buttons don't work. I can turn the trim wheel by my mouse, but  the wheel returns back to original position over and over again and it is impossible to keep the arrow in the green field.

Am I doing something wrong? I follow the manual step by step and this thing still doesn't work for me.

I will be glad for any answer. Thank you.

Milan, the newbe pilot.

You tried with keyboard? 7 and 1 at numpad with numlock active.

What joystick you have and how you assigned controls?

I have no answers for your questions but instead of trying to keep your mouse over the green field, simply hold it over the wheel itself and use the scroll wheel. That's the way I do it and it's impossible to miss.  ^_^

simply hold it over the wheel itself and use the scroll wheel.

Same technique here, does the job for me.

I have Saitek X52 Pro. I have trim assigned to one rotation axis on the thrust lever for my thumb (smaller one on the side). In default FSX planes it works well, but not in this addon. I tried to hold a mouse and use only mouse wheel, but no result - trim wheel doesn't move (in default planes it works normally). Only thing working for me right now is holding the left mouse button and manualy turning the trim wheel (while I'm making a circles with my mouse like crazy man), but after the movement the wheel is going back to original position.

I think that's because the trim axis at your x52 override any other inputs. Try to "unassign" that axis for trim and try with just mouse and keyboard. If trim works in that way, than ther's a problem with that trim axis at X-52

Try assigning buttons rather than an axis. (if only to test the slider isnt malfunctioning )

When useing the mouse, you dont have to make circles like a mad man, just hold left or right click, and if you have '' show cockpit tooltips'' checked in fsx setting, when you hover the mouse over the trim wheel it will also show your trim units.

I had your problem...but i cannot for the life of me remember how i sorted it...if i remember ill post back.
