Views on JAR A330 vs IXEG 737
Save your money for something else. A330 was my first plane I've bought for Xplane and I was (and still I'm so dissapointed). Strange flight characteristic after take off, FMC is crap and many more. Personaly I think this plane should be somewhere between 25 - 35 Euros (and still I wouldn't buy it again). Definitely IXEG 737 is much better. It's fun to fly and it's very friendly to FPS. The most complex airliner (for me) is FF B767, but I fly only with IXEG recently.

FPS Issues
Hi, I'm using these addons: - Flightfactor 767 - Skymaxx 3.1 - Real Weather Connector - HD Mesh v3 - w2xp Here is my ingame settings: https://www.dropbox.com/s/8ek21lfaozax5ms/XP10_Setting.jpg?dl=0 and Skymaxx: https://www.dropbox.com/s/qe2y37qimys4w1b/Skymaxx.jpg?dl=0 I'm happy how it looks and how it moves Even in really bad weather it's still moving about 40-45 FPS. When skies are cleared its about 70-75. Just want to get rid off the resolution switching. Zikous

FPS Issues
Hi, I would like to switch from FSX:SE to X-Plane - I've bought A330 from Jar Design (big dissapointment), B767 from FlightFactor (great), Skymaxx, and few other addons. Now I'm in a phase of FPS tuning in display settings. I started from lowes possible setting and went up to situation I like (but still no shadows and HDR). I have i5 (4.4 GHz and GTX 660 with 3GB RAM). Result is 20 FPS in B767, but if I lower the resolution in the display settings my FPS will go up to 70. Then I change resolution back to 1920x1080 and FPS will stay at 70. Is it normal? Sometimes it drop back to 20 and I have to repeat the trick. Now I know that my system can give me pretty fluiid sim, but how to fix this? Thanks for advice Milan Zikmund

Ultimate Terrain vs. ORBX products
I tried new installers for Global, Vector and OpenLC Europe last weekend. I saw no difference between older and newer versions (central Europe). I returned to combo FTX Global + UTX 2.1 - better visuals, better frames (FSX:SE). I use Pilot's mesh. My PC: i5 4690k OC 4.2GHz, 8GB RAM, GTX 660.

Pros & Cons of X Plane
I'm now very carefull on spending my money than before - loan for my new house, new child in the family, but I agree, those guys deserve every penny for what they do. I was just curious what is X-Plane capable of and I'm very impressed. But for now I locked the budget until new Dovetail sim arrives next year.

Pros & Cons of X Plane
Hi. I'm new to X-Plane. I've been in FSX till now and spent lots of money on addons. Till now I can only compare visuals. X-Plane on steroids is much better then FSX. And also it's much cheaper. I fly mainly in Europe and you can make scenerey gorgeous. Base mesh: XP10 - HD Mesh Scenery v3 - free FSX - FS Global 2010 FTX - 100$ Ground textures> XP10 - photo scenery - free FSX - FTX Global Base Pack - 100$ Vector data: XP10 - already included in sim FSX - FTX Vector - 60$ (not as accurate as in XP10) Landclass: XP10 - World2XPlane sceneries - free FSX - FTX OpenLC Europe - 40$ This is 300$ difference and results in FSX aren't so stunning as in X-Plane. For 300$ you can by other addons like Skymaxx, couple of aircafts, ... For clouds FSX has REX, XP10 has Skymaxx for the same price. XP10 is still missing Active Sky Next and I also don't know about good AI traffic addon (I'm missing Ultimate traffic 2 on FSX). Zikous

ORBX World and FSX-SE ?...
I have the same problem. I had FSX:SE full installation but something went wrong so I decided to reinstall the whole sim. I uninstall all addons, FSX:SE, deleted all remaining folders, cleanded registry with CC and also with FSX tweakfs, but still I have the problem during fresh installation. Using the latest file I downloaded from eshop. Don't want to reinstall the whole windows ... :( Unfortunately I can't login to ORBX support forum ...

Considering X-Plane 10... A Few Questions
I'm also thinking about X-plane instead of FSX. I spent huge amout of cash on addons (just like others) so it's big decision. PMDG is one reason why I'm staying with FSX. But when they'll release something on X-plane it will be also good reason for other developers to start supporting X-plane. I found some article on web, that Hifi is also preparing something to X-plane. Active Sky Next? Maybe. Another question is Flight license ...

FTX: Global VECTOR Released
I can confirm that missing ponds, streets, roads and rivers are in OSM. wothanfja16: I have this mesh and with FTX Vector some roads simply ends in the terrain. With UTX works nice.

FTX: Global VECTOR Released
I'm running FTX Global with UTX for Europe. I was looking for FTX Vector, but I'm disappoinetd. I disabled UTX and tried Vector around LKPR and LKBE in Czech Republic where I live: - UTX has six different types of roads (I use only four), with Vector I have only two. UTX is winner. - Only huge rivers in Vector - I was missing streams around my city. UTX is winner. - There are three big ponds around my city. Vector showed me only 1. UTX 3. UTX is winner. - Vector don't have object repositioning - towns and villages cannot be recognized. With UTX I can recognize them easily even from FL330 and more. UTX is winner. - UTX is for regions only, Vector is global. Vector is winner. Is here someone with same results?

Haswell Overclock results and temp
Zikous82 replied to NGXfanatic's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcI have i5 4760k oc'ed from 3,4 GHz to 4,4 GHz just by one click in BIOS - I have ASRock MB and there are some safe presets. Temperature of all cores doesn't go over 70°C (I'm using Noctua NH-U9B SE2). Working very vell. FSX is nice and smooth even with tons of addons (PMDG 737 + FTXG + REX + AS2012), sliders set to max. Test flight around KJFK during heavy tunderstorm - 25 and more FPS.

CPU upgrade
Zikous82 replied to Zikous82's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcI decided to go to 8350 but in shop I saw i5 4670k almost for the same money so I will go for Intel. I just need new MB, but it's only 100 Euro and I can spare some money. Thank you all for your help.

CPU upgrade
Zikous82 replied to Zikous82's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcThank you for your reply. I'm using GTX660 with 3GB DDR5 RAM. I've tried Bojotes tweaks, but Word Not Allowed's guide works better for me. Yesterday I bought SteveFX - DX10 Scenery Fixer and now FSX performes better a bit. I'm also using many addons: REX+UTX+AS2012+FTXG+Shade, few airports from FlyTampa (but performance on those airports is good) and PMDG airplanes.

CPU upgrade
Dear all, I need your help or advice about new CPU for my PC. Now I have AMD Phenom II 965 BE overclocked from 3.4 GHz to stable 3.8 Ghz. I cannot get more. I mostly fly in Europe and I would like to have better performance in some cities (it's not so bad, but few more FPS would be nice). I'm wondering if it helps me (is it worth?) to change it for AMD FX-4350 with 4.2 GHz without OC (4.5 GHz possibly with OC)? I know Intel is better, but right now I don't want to change the whole PC because I have another expenses (building a house). I will build new PC next year and it will be Intel, dedicated only for FSX. This PC I have now will remain as second gaming PC and for FSX addons. Thank you regards Ziki
