Pete; WOW! What a neat looking cockpit. Bet that is a great place to call your "office". Been toying with the idea of a homebrew cockpit for ages, but I must say it seems the Citation series may turn out to be the winner. They just seem "right" for some reason One question, Peter. I'm over 6 foot and of average build. The cockpit seems a bit "cozy" from the pictures. Is there ample legroom for the length flights you typically take? And since one rarely has a chance to correspond with a real world pilot, what might a typical flight profile be? Would be nice to give a go at a real world flight plan. Thanks again for the great pic. Blue skies!

We are also working on a Citation Excel (now XL).Hopefully, within the next twelve months we'll have the CJ2, Bravo & Mustang ready as well, but at the moment they're still in the very early research stage.

Thanks for a great product! You are most welcome. I enjoyed building the model and the gauges for the CII, as I truly enjoy flying with the old 'steam gauges.' :)Sad to say though, I am forced now to spend most of my working hours flying the CJ1 with it's Primus 1000 glass system, or the Cirrus SR20/22 with the Avidyne Entegra... I know it's a tough break, but someone's got to do it! :)

I have since long used a double boot system (XP Home). As at boot time I am given the choice of which one should be loaded (different boot names) I have no problem. The default is however my non-FS system: I have chosen to have 30 seconds to switch to my FS installation. This is on a 2nd HD. As for XP, there is no legal problems: as the verfication process only looks for the hardware components, and they are the same, the installation is validated (in any case you are only using an instance of XP at a time!).The great advantage of having an HD and XP installation fully dedicated to FS, is that you can get rid of all programs you do not need, leaving the full system resources to FS. Another advantage is that you can try new graphics drivers (or other) without worrying about their compatibility with your other (possibly professional) applications.I hope this might help you to take a decision.Best Regards,

As Par says, everything you are trying to achieve can be achieved with administrative accounts within XP. A single install of XP.The only time XP dual booting makes any sense is if you are beta testing drivers or system files and need to investigate the use of those system files with a bare bones OS.Otherwise the only reason for dual booting is for different operating systems. Everything else seems like a complete waste of time and effort when all the processes you are trying to save can be closed without the need to shut down, reboot and select a different OS.Ditto for the trying of new graphics drivers. That's what System Restore is for. Only fools disable that. I use Sony Sound Forge 7.0, WMP10 and MP3WMA Recorder for sound work with large files and have an administrative account that disables everything except the bare bones files. I never reboot between sessions and have never noticed any resource issues, and that's working with files and processes that make FS look like a two-piece jigsaw puzzle.Allcott

You maybe right Allcott. I realize that dual booting can be considered as a "brute force" way of achieving what can be done by simply changing accounts. But not knowing exactly how XP behaves, I feel on the safer side with the dual boot... Maybe some time later I will try to set an FS account in my normal boot and see what happens.Regards,

>If you have windows XP there is not much reason to have a>dual boot system. Since that is very much what the>administrative accounts is for. You can have different logins>that uses different settings, services and such.Hi,i'm going to create a new clean FS2004 user. Can you please explain how can i only load XP w/o any other progs such as Zone Alarm, AVG antivirus and so on?I edited regedit but that way all users are affected :-(Maybe i should run msconfig? see my other posthttp://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...84878&mode=fullThanks in advanceLuigi ;-)

It's worth trying, just so that you can go "OK, that was so easy, what's the catch?" then finding there isn't one!Allcott

>Bill >>You have your hands full creating the Primus 1000. Is it going>to be fully functional? Thanks for sharing the pics, Peter!OOPS! I mispoke earlier. The Dornier 328 (and some others) will feature the Primus 1000 system. You can see the Primus 1000 prototype pictures in our Dornier 328 forum at http://eaglesofgdg.comThe CJ1 uses the Collins Proline 21 system. {insert embarrased look here}... :-wedge However, it will be as "fully functional" as FS allows, which is really quite a lot... :) The Primus 1000 for the Dornier will have everything that the real system has. Here's a view of the engine/electrical subpanel to give some idea of the new direction we're taking with this one with regards to gauge textures. Obviously, the starter buttons are not yet installed on this example... :)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/92406.jpg
