April 12, 201313 yr This airplane has been around for a few years and this may already have been dealt with it, but I just bought it a few weeks ago. It's a nice airplane, but I cannot find the elevator trim control. I have looked in all the obvious places in the VC and have searched Google and most of the FS forums, but no luck. (I know I can ujse the keyboard, but I want to do it in the VC.) Any owners of this plane out there who know where it is? April 12, 201313 yr I think it was on the yoke when I last looked. Could be wrong though... Intel I7-4770 3.4Ghz 16 Gb RAM nVidia GTX770 2Gb Windows 8.1 64 bit P3D 4.4/3.4 FSX SE
April 13, 201313 yr Author Thanks Jim, yes there it is a crank on the ceiling. A bit awkward to use in FSX VC on approach, though. April 13, 201313 yr Yes, it is. If you are using a yoke (I use CH Prods) you can slave the trim to one of the rocker switches that are usually used to operate the elev and rudder trim. I also went to the aircraft.cfg file and cut the trim sensitivity about in half to get something more realistic in its effect (IMHO). Yes, the sim airplane is a bit outdated but still fun. April 13, 201313 yr Author Hi Woodhick I have a Saltek yoke + throttle quadrant so I am well set up for twin engines, and I have set the elevator trim to a rocker switch like you have. I have also noticed the over sensitivity to the trim swich, which is one of the reasons I wanted to see the trim handle/gauge on the panel so I could see how much trim was affected when I hit the rocker switch just a single time. It moved an enormous amount - about 3.5 - 5.0. I went into my cfg file and cut tne sensitivity even more than you did - from 1.0- to 0.1 It seems about right to me now. I personally think the cockpit graphics of this airplane compare favourably to current offernings by Carenado,. The external graphics are pretty good too. Now that I have the trim sorted I will continue to fly it, (if I can figure out how to havigate without an ADF or a DME!) April 14, 201313 yr   Yeah, nav without those things can be...interesting. I always use ADF a lot whenever possible. My way out is actually a cheat. I own the old RXP GPS530WAAS unit. I'm really lazy and too easily pleased I guess, but I simply installed it on the (unused) 2-D panel screen then I simply open it onto my 2nd monitor and navigate from there. Fast and dirty I know but it works for me. It's a fun airplane. Dan George (woodhick)Check out Greenbrier Aero Club, the VA for and about the GA pilot.
