I'm downloading an addon on SimMarket which is 1GB roughly. I have tested my connection today at 18Mbit/sec, however the download from SimMarket seems to be capped at 30KB/sec. At this rate it will be 7 hours until i have downloaded the file. I have my antivirus off for the download and other things seem to be working fine so i'm convinced it is at their end. 

 

Their server even says only 30% load. 

 

My question is has anyone downloaded from here before? Did you have speed issues?

I've bought a huge number of addons there for download and had to re-download most of them on occasions. They've been quite speedy.

 

What you're describing reminds me of downloads from PcAviator ...

 

I'd cancel those downloads and download again. They have between one and three servers for you to download from, depending on title. Maybe just try one of the other ones.

 

Just checked: FlyTampa's Sydney isn't released yet ... ;-) ... so it should be a transient issue for you.

I have since cancelled it several times and restarted it just now - it is running much much steadier, touch wood. At one point it said estimated download time 13 days  :blink:

 

I think they had a server problem earlier.

It did say 13 days, then i cancelled it and restarted it a few hours later and now its down to 3 hours lol.

Don't download ALL Orbx scenery at a time ...   ;-)

The Simmarket servers are slow again.   I can normally download from them at a very fast speed but not its measured in KB/hr.

 

Hope this clears up soon.  Anyone else have slow download speeds from them recently?

Could be everyone re-downloading their FlyTampa stuff - even BMT Micro was on it's knees when the announcement was made.
