QW's Avro vs. Majestic's Dash8

Recommended Posts

I also have them both. They don't compare at all. The Q400 is study level and the Avro is quite light. Besides, they are entirely different aircraft.

However that said, I rather like the Avro and would love to have one with the fidelity of the superb Q400!

I was referring to VNAV functionality/prediction within the FMS, not the autopilot mode. Whilst the autopilot cannot couple to the FMS's VNAV, the FMS will still generate a vertical profile for you including ToD and deviation.

Alas, that's true ;).

Quick start omitted mentioning to adjust the altitude setting in the Avro before the ToD is past to get an auto-descent.  Sure seems to be a money maker in FS Economy.  :)

For me the best version is not Avro RJ but Bae146-200 with steam gauges, peculiar ATHR, old fashion FMC - pure joy to fly...

Don`t miss the Dash-8. It`s the one and only Turboprop simulation in FSX/P3D, because of its custom Turboprop implementation.

Although others claim to be as well, like the Realair Turbine Duke. All those using the flawed default FS Turboprop engine, it can be only a workaround and not more.

Not to say the RJ85/146 are bad, no. But there are so many Jets around, so don` miss the Turboprop experience :-).
