October 2, 200421 yr See this link http://flightforum.ch/forum/showthread.php?t=27712This fits in with comments I had seen elsewhere that Helge was had not been found on the support forum for some time, which was annoying users who depended on him for updates to some of the Nav data.I don't know where the FS Navigator forum is so I haven't been able to check the original message.--Bryn

October 2, 200421 yr Its nice for everyone to get the chance to use this great program, but also sad to see it will probably be last FS we can use it in unless it will be picked up by somebody else (are you reading this MS!)Really miss the SID/Star upload/download so hopefully it will be continued by somebody else.
October 2, 200421 yr Sad news indeed. It was one of the best add-ons for FS and if we dont get an update for the next version of FS most of us will have a severe withdrawl symptom.
October 2, 200421 yr I wonder if he plans to make it open source? If he does then maybe other developers can work together to keep the project going. If anyone is unsure what open source means or what it is then check here. www.opensource.org
October 2, 200421 yr Author Earlier today in the FSNav ng some doubt was expressed that the original posting came from Helge. It is possible that the posting was not from Helege but from an imposter.
October 3, 200421 yr Well, if it is true, I would hope that it be made open source, so the community can continue to support and improve it.
October 3, 200421 yr I am not being a smart ___. But, I must have missed somthing as I cant figuree why the author is giving it up.Is it me ( I can only assume people are now using the FS09 GPS, and feel the FsNav is not needed. For me it was agreat online tool (like radar in multi-player) to see other aircraft while in the air.Oh well, you never know.Mark.
October 3, 200421 yr Moderator Bryn,This is almost certainly a hoax message and Vulcan is also suspicious. If you read through the messages on the FSNav Forum one skilled person identified the source of another message purporting to come from Helge as Birmingham, England and with a slightly diferent name and e-mail address. You can read the messages here. Read the "replies" thread. http://news.simflight.com/cgi-bin/dnewsweb...ht.fsnav4&utag=Cheers, Ray (Cheshire, England). October 3, 200421 yr Hold the applause! For those intrested, go to http://news.simflight.com/cgi-bin/dnewsweb...ht.fsnav4&utag=And read the entire thread. Pay particular attention around message 10189 or 10188. There are several posts from those that know Helge Schroder, the author of FSNav.I'll let you read and decide for yourself but personally, I believe most of the FS community has been had!Pass the word!
October 4, 200421 yr I'm not sure whats going on at FSNAV, I've not been able to download updated SIDs ect for a while. However if it bites the dust so be it......BUT..(theres always one) Alessandro has been continuing work on Super Flight Planner which for me in earlier versions I thought was the best and it worked also in X-Plane.Search the library for sfp3b5.zip or visit http://www.cpinf.net/web/home.php?index=1Alex is a great guy and been around for a while,he does this for free..so, a little repect please. With many of these flight planners, they stemmed from an earlier version (cant remember the name now..age)by Ted Wright ? Which was once released with it's source code..so any of talented programmer chaps out there want to have a go ?Theres also a great rendition by Alex of Eric Ernst's older 767 panel there for FS2004 just reworked !Ash
