Flight simulator X activation. Issues

Featured Replies

Well I'm guessing this is my last attempt to activate my Flight Simulator X . I'm one of the very many people that got stuck with a game that can't be activated. I get my 30 min. And get a message to activate and it never connects to register . I've tried all the cracks and none work . Anyone have any ideas ?? Geo

Have you tried calling into the automated activation center? The numbers are in your ../FSX root folder.

That is a very odd admission to make here. Could land you in big trouble.

Yes it is, and it has.

Conniegeo1 gets a weeks suspension right off the bat with his first post for endorsing, promoting or using pirated software, cracks or whatever. Next time permanent.

Kind regards,

Ok, so I am frustrated beyond belief with my activation issues, so this is my last attempt to try and find a solution......and forget Microsoft, those buffoons couldn't find their proverbial.....well you know what with both hands.

I purchased FS X about a month ago, and spent over 12 hours on the phone with Microsoft trying to find a solution to my activation woes. I was transferred about 9 times and the last time I got unknowingly turned over to a third party tech who rifled through my personal files and then demanded 600 dollars or my computer would "crash in two days". Well, she was right about that, but that is another issue.

Restored my operating system, running windows 7 64 bit. Went back to the store and got another copy of FS X, with a new product key and the same problem.

I have tried the work arounds suggested here but none work. I have no options left so I am looking for any help at all. The last thing I tried was to modify the dlxkey file by putting in my product key, and then went to the registry to modify from 0 to partmgr but there was no need as that key was already partmgr. Rebooted and input my key but no luck.

Does anyone have any suggestions at all?

Hi dsquare1. Can you confirm if you are trying to activate FSX or Acceleration? Both require independent activation. Once you have installed FSX, you MUST load up a flight and go fly a bit. You must also register FSX before installing Acceleration. With FSX it should happen automatically if you are online.

Then shut down and restart your computer before installing Acceleration. There is a common problem that might cause Acceleration to fail to register and the fix is easily effected by going into the registry and editing

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

System

CurrentControlSet

Control

Class

{4D36E967-E325-11CE-BDC1-08002BE10318} (note that this number can have slight variances)

UpperFilters

And making sure the entry here is just Partmgr. Usually there will be other entries such as tdrpman258 and snapman which should all be deleted.

Thanks for getting back...........I followed the posted directions to the letter before I posted my first comment, with the only difference being when i originally installed FSX I didn't even own Acceleration. I could not get the product key to be accepted. Subsequent to that, someone online suggested that if I installed Acceleration with FSX there would be no problem, so I purchased Acceleration and tried to re-install FSX without trying to activate it, and then install Acceleration. The problem is that you can't install Acceleration unless FSX is already activated, so that did me no good.

I have run the Microsoft tool to reset the store and license but it will only reset the store, I don't know if this matters.

The only entry I found in the upper filters was partmgr, nothing else so I did not edit the file.

So the only thing that I have not done is load up a flight without trying to activate the product, so I will give that a shot tonight.
