May 1, 201313 yr Recently, my FSX has been crashing a lot. They all turn out to be related to BEX and G2D.dll My understanding of the g2d.dll is that it is not connected to scenery textures and the module that handles plain text in the menus, in the framerate counter, slew coordinates, etc. You might want to check your dll.xml in the same folder as your fsx.cfg and make sure it is not corrupted (you have to look at the entries and see how they are formatted and, if any are out of line, fix it then save the file. You might want to make a back up copy before you do this though. The BEX and StackHash errors happen often in FSX and I attribute them to high fsx settings and/or display driver settings. Your system just cannot keep up with all of the actions you have requested your system to handle while running FSX. I have seen it being caused by a bad program installation too. The ab46 figure next to StackHash is the memory address the issue is stuck at. The exception code you received when you got the g2d crash is related to the StackHash error (even though it didn't show a StackHash error). Exception code c00000409 means Stack_Buffer_Overflow. Some suggestions for the cause of these crashes indicate you do not have the latest Microsoft Visuals installed. The AppCrashView program gives me more information related to your MSV's. You need the following latest versions installed: 2005 - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=26347 2008 - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=26368 2010 - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=26999 Hope this helps. May 1, 201313 yr Fsx doesn't like your overclock. bex stackhash is a memory error. I was having the same problem and brought my i5-3570k down from 4.5 to 4.3. No more bex stackhash crashes. I didn't want to troubleshoot any more and was fine with 4.3. Might be memory speed issue, or mem or CPU voltage. Who knows. Dial it back and it will go away. Brent Baker

May 1, 201313 yr Something in your overclock isn't stable. Fsx is pushing it too hard and causing memory errors. Reinstalling probably won't fix it. Blame it on fsx and inefficient code. Brent Baker

May 6, 201313 yr I'm getting BEX errors too with no overclocking. Any help? I don't know what to say, I installed the 2 QW planes, a CS 757, REX and the Majestic Q400 and now I'm getting BEX crashes and "runtime error r6025 - Pure Virtual Function Call" as a message. Could it also be a faulty 3rd party install instead of a faulty overclocking? REX seems to have a glitched/skewed menu layout, if that helps, with black areas where there should be none. May 6, 201313 yr A BEX/StackHash is impossible to find the exact cause. Totally impossible. You'll have to investigate and look for the cause. There are many posts here related to the BEX/StackHash error and some have found a fix and many have not. If you want, you can download and run AppCrashView and copy the results then paste them here for me to take a look at - http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/app_crash_view.html. Post the latest crash. Added a picture of what I mean with REX' main window/splash window being all screwy. I do not see any corruption in the pictures posted. Sorry. The "runtime error r6025 - Pure Virtual Function Call" usually indicates a product was not installed or registered correctly. Some individuals have fixed it by deleting or renaming their FSX.cfg and restarting FSX and letting FSX rebuild the config. Sometimes this can happen too if your registry gets corrupted. It can be usually fixed by running a registry cleaner like CCleaner or Advanced System Pro. Here's a link to someone with REX who got the same error several years ago and how he got it fixed - http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f222/solved-runtime-error-in-fsx-223948.html. Hope this helps. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! on the REX windows, so much as a black spacing. The minimize/close buttons are waaayyy off to the right, and the menu is larger than it should be.I'll show you the comparison below between mine and normal: http://i.imm.io/156nl.jpeg http://i.imm.io/156o2.jpeg http://i.imm.io/156nP.jpeg I don't really know what could cause it, it could either be Majestic's Q400, REX (considering the main window is messed up as well, that's my main suspect), or the airbus x extended... It has to be one of those three considering the crash happened when flying either of those 2 planes with REX, and not when I tried QW's BAe again. Would it be solved if I uninstall everything and then reinstall in one go? Or do I need to do something between each re-install? I also added yesterday's, and the day before yesterday's error log, if that helps.
May 7, 201313 yr Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 is not fully up-to-date. Here is the link to the latest version - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=26347. MSV 2008 and 2010 did not load but that's okay as probably none of your addons used it. If you do not have MSV 2008 or 2010 installed though, I would install them. You have the Bonjour service installed on your system which has been known to cause some problems with some games. I'm not sure it causes a problem with FSX but it may be trying to communicate with iTunes/Apple during your FSX sessions and causing a crash. Here's more info about the service - http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/6456/what-is-mdnsresponder.exe-bonjour-and-how-can-i-uninstall-or-remove-it/. It was loaded at module 163. The latest crash is exactly the same as the previous crash(es). A BEX/StackHash CTD. Here's a link in this forum to a possible fix to ALL BEX/StackHash CTD's - http://forum.avsim.net/topic/403927-hooray-instructions-to-get-no-more-dep-induced-bev-or-stack-errorscrashes/. It has worked for some. FSX needs DEP enabled so it is impossible to stop it but evidently the info in the link does it and FSX continues to run. I looked at the pictures and it appears you do not have the graphics fully expanded such as in full page. If the REX program is not expanded, a problem such as the one you have can happen. You can click on the graphic, then, in the lower right corner pull it down to expand the graphic. If that doesn't work, then it could be the resolution for your computer is not correct. Make sure it is set at native. I would also remove the uiautomationcore.dll from your main FSX directory. Since you did get a crash, the Vista version obviously did not stop it. The uiautomationcore.dll only fixes one problem and that's a crash if you repeatedly hit the FSX menu bar. I personally cannot replicate this crash and have tried several times to crash my FSX by repeatedly clicking on the fsx menu bar. No joy... I really think the menu bar crash is caused by high settings where fsx is running short of memory by the constant hitting on the menu bar. I do not have the uiautomationcore.dll in my main fsx folder and never have. The uiautomationcore.dll belongs with the Microsoft.net framework packages and, developers of FSX and FSX addons require dotnet versions 1.1 thru 4.5 installed to make their products work properly. I believe the Vista version of dotnet is 1.1 as it is installed with FSX/Acceleration. Hope this helps. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource!
