FSX crashes on start up

Featured Replies

my fsx  game has been crashing on start up for the last couple of days and i have googled for solutions but nothing seems to help reinstalled the game and installed again and still nothing. only thing ive noticed is that it ran on fsx sp1 but as soon as installed sp2 or acceleration it began to crash again.

These are my error logs:

Help will be greatly appreciated!!!!

You might want to download and run AppCrashView which interprets the crashes in your WER folder - http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/app_crash_view.html.  Copy and paste the results here.

only thing ive noticed is that it ran on fsx sp1 but as soon as installed sp2 or acceleration it began to crash again.

If you have Acceleration, you do not install SP1 or SP2.  If you install SP1 and SP2 and then Acceleration, you will have problems.  Acceleration includes SP1 and Acceleration is the same as SP2 but coded differently so that users of SP2 cannot get the benefits of Acceleration without paying for it.

When installing FSX, run FSX first before installing Acceleration so that the fsx.cfg can be built.  Once running successfully, then install Acceleration and run it at least once before adding any addons.

Best regards,

Jim

When you have a clean install you don't have to install sp1 and sp2 when you have acceleration.

Install FSX and only acceleration.

(Acceleration is Also sp1 and sp2)

I have install as above and works great.

Yes, you can install just SP1 + SP2 or Just Acceleration.

I suggest you to install just FSX + SP1 + SP2, i had a big graphic and performance problems when i tried acceleration

Zeljko Budovic

I just noticed in the OP that the first error shows you have SP2 installed and the second error shows Acceleration installed.  Not good....

Jim

no thats not it i tried both options

first installing fsx +acceleration (without sp1/2)

second installing fsx +sp1/2(without acceleration)

in both times it crashes after sp2 or acceleration installs

strange thing is that i had the game running before with addons and many other things without any issues and one day it suddenly decided to crash on me.

I still belive you have installation problem. Here you have detailed instruction how to install fsx in the right way(just scroll down a little bit untill you see "FSX Installation"):http://www.simforums...topic29041.html http://www.simforums...topic29041.html

You should not have this problem after that. But you must restart PC after each installation, you have everything you need there...

Uninstall your fsx before this, restart PC, clean the the registry and restart again

Did you OC your computer?

no,here are my computer specs:

intel i7 950 3.07ghz

radeon hd 6850

6GB RAM

here are the results from the appcrashview:

Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 is properly installed and up-to-date. You had a BEX crash which means Buffer_Exception_Overrun - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buffer_overflow.  Impossible to diagnose but you might want to try the fix posted here in the AVSIM CTD Forum-http://forum.avsim.net/topic/403927-hooray-instructions-to-get-no-more-dep-induced-bev-or-stack-errorscrashes/.
