May 12, 201313 yr I too use a zoom of 0.9 which I arrived at after much experimentation. It allows for what I need, with decent perspective, peripheral cues and a satisfactory control position. As you see from the photo, I cut my desk down and moved the monitor down, so that when seated I am able to look down at the PFD/ND and straight out over the top of the glareshield. That itself, made a HUGE difference in perspective.... most PC monitors IMHO sit a bit too high. The measurements to the top of the yoke and bottom of the PFD/ND are within an inch of reality.... close enough for me at the moment. That coupled with EZCA and (very occasionally TrackIR) works for me. Keep trying until you achieve enough willing suspension of disbelief to live with Best- Carl Avari-Cooper
May 15, 201313 yr I use Opus camera, with DHM. Set to zoom 0.5 otherwise I can´t see the HUD. Great view out, can just see N1 gauges and plenty outside. If you get your view position right you don't need to zoom out to 0.5 to see the HUD.
May 15, 201313 yr The size of your monitor depends greatly on what settings to go for. Having 0.90 gives almost no distance distortion but on a small screen you can't see a lot at once on the screen. I have a 27" screen, and I settled on 0.70 after moving the viewpoint back using ezdok so if I look backwards at the headrest (using trackir) I'm just at the point before the camera starts to clip through the leather textures. I figured this is where my virtual head would be resting against the head rest. With this setup I can see both the PFD, ND, and I can see over the glare shield at the runway. The HGS info also displays nicely in the glass. AJ Pongress
