May 13, 201313 yr Author I just recall I have the whole flight recorded with fsrecorder, so I replay and capture with more footages. This second video shows a 2nd wake turbulence(01:06) which I did not capture realtime in the first video. This shows a more accurate occurrence of this mysterious wake turbulence. It usually hit you more than once as you can see from the video. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_cSQR-scbpxaMauagnsU5A http://www.twitch.tv/fastcheetah702/profile
May 13, 201313 yr WT is not at all mysterious. It is a well known and documented fact. See below If you want something mysterious, try wind shear. I've been (virtually) killed at least three times over the years by wind shear. I use Active Sky and it happens very rarely but is actually modeled. Always with T-storms in the area. Increases the pucker factor on all landing when T-storms are around. Once you experience it, you never forget it. It's like the laws of physics being revoked and nobody thoughy to tell you. Nice pic showing the WT visually! I am not sure I have experience a wind shear yet in FSX, I will hope to record it if it ever happen to me. Is wind shear simulated by AS? https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_cSQR-scbpxaMauagnsU5A http://www.twitch.tv/fastcheetah702/profile
May 14, 201313 yr Is wind shear simulated by AS? Yes it is. Reread my post just above. Fortunately it is extremely rare. You will probably never be able to record it, you will be too stunned to do anything other than stare in disbelief when it happens. Your airplane does not simply descend rapidly, it literally falls from the sky. Dan George (woodhick)Check out Greenbrier Aero Club, the VA for and about the GA pilot.

Although report said that it could be a sudden break loose of the cargo that caused a CG shift, has that been confirmed? https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_cSQR-scbpxaMauagnsU5A http://www.twitch.tv/fastcheetah702/profile
May 14, 201313 yr I would have no idea about that incident. To the best of my knowledge WS almost always occurs in the vicinity of thunderstorms. Here is a Wikipedia article about wind shear Dan George (woodhick)Check out Greenbrier Aero Club, the VA for and about the GA pilot.

I will try to record whenever there is thunderstorm during approach and landing.. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_cSQR-scbpxaMauagnsU5A http://www.twitch.tv/fastcheetah702/profile
May 14, 201313 yr QuoteOdd to see that the aircraft ahead of you was told to go around... Welcome to the wonderful world of FSX ATC. When the tower gives you clearance to land when you are still moving downwind, finding the next aircraft in line is ahead of you when you turn onto final is not uncommon. However, AI planes can also sometimes "vanish into the twilight zone", but ATC still thinks that they are on the runway (or in the pattern). I generally ignore the "go around" instructions in those situations., since they can last for quite some time! May 14, 201313 yr Author Neither the wind shear nor the wake turbulence got me this time....the road traffic got me instead....LOL. Bad piloting!! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_cSQR-scbpxaMauagnsU5A http://www.twitch.tv/fastcheetah702/profile

May 15, 201313 yr Author Hi guys, I managed to record another wake turbulence incident. This time my setting in AS for WT is 10%. Judging by the force on the DC3 in this video. We can confirm the sudden banking during landing is indeed due to the WT setting in AS. Cheers! Thanks all for helping, thats one myth solved for me. From now on I will have to make sure I don't land when I know some large airliner is gona speed ahead of me. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_cSQR-scbpxaMauagnsU5A http://www.twitch.tv/fastcheetah702/profile
