May 12, 201313 yr Hello guys, I am starting to have some FPS problems and wanted to know more about overlocking my computer. I just download the Nvidia Ispector and looking at the overlocking settings I see no activity. I dont really know how this works, but I know it something risky. I bought my computer with overlocking option but I am not sure if it something he does automatically of if I have to set it up. I want to share a screenshot about my Nvidia inspector, maybe some of you guys can give me some hint about the best configuration? Thanks to all! felipe turbay
May 12, 201313 yr Overclocking your CPU is done in your PCs Bios. Nvidia inspector is used to set profiles for your GPU. If you click on that little tool icon middle right of the first page you will see the profiles. An option means "it can be overclocked"
May 12, 201313 yr I doubt if overclocking your video card will help you much. You didn't give much info there about your system. What CPU, RAM, etc. Since there is much to overclocking I recommend you peruse overclocking sites and see if your system is up to it. There are some prerequisites to a good overclock, you should make sure you meet those. That's a good graphics card you have, and I see you are using the current driver. Your card is quite a bit faster than my GTX570. is your CPU up to snuff? FSX is CPU dependent, not GPU dependent so much. As for me - the CPU is the bottleneck in my system. I can overclock both my CPU as well as my GPU, but usually I just OC the CPU (My GTX runs too hot for my liking to overclock it enough to gain more than 1 or 2 FPS). And my CPU overclock is limited because I have cr@ppy RAM. Just my $0.02.
May 12, 201313 yr Do not overclock video card more trouble than its worth can harm your video card pretty much useless to do this - overclock your cpu and just do your home work down and dirty is to up the multiplier in your bios and stay around 4.5 ghz Rich Sennett

May 15, 201313 yr Turbay, my opinion is that your PC is prime for OC. You really should seek advice on the details after studying the prospect a while. I am not sure of the i-5 over-clock-ness but you should be able to find that out with a little research. http://www.overclockers.com/forums/ ^^^^^^ I love dis plaze.

May 15, 201313 yr what do you mean with "cancel" Rick? PJ got it right Felipe. The reply I originally posted I did not think was relevant to your problem. On second thought however, maybe it is worth mentioning. I noticed that you have one solitary HDD. This means that you have everything (O/S, FSX, Add-ons, etc. All on one solitary hard drive I am assuming? Some may disagree with me, but I have experienced a far more stable and trouble free sim since giving FSX it's own dedicated hard drive. In fact, since I listed my specs, I have added a 3rd hard drive and two hot swap bays to keep only that necessary on my FSX & O/S drives. As I said, not really helpful to your problem. May 15, 201313 yr @ Admin. Pardon me if I am wrong, but given the subject matter of this thread, would not the MOBO, RAM, CPU's & Other Hardware forum be more appropriate if it needed moving? Regards, Rick Hobbs
