Getting comfortable with XPX, and settling in....

Featured Replies

I just paused a flight out in regional and countryside touch and go's.  I am going to make a personal statement here, that isn't supposed to be a 'get with the program you'all' for the rest of aviation simulation environs. I have found my flight simulator, in XPX and I suppose any other following versions.

On my system, everything is real-life in fluid and non-stutter, non-choppy simulation animation, all in.  The instantaneous, lightening fast updates to the instruments is not like anything I have ever seen to date. The regional highway, loaded with such detailed cars, trucks (with logos, yet!) and buses, is so real to the mind, that as I landed, I just paused for a moment and watched the traffic. I now realize how important for myself, are real-life events and happenings, such as a road filled with traffic in my sim world, like I see everyday on the interstate. On county roads, whatever. It makes it seem what I am doing in my Den, quite real. Quite real.

Between the constant 30 fps, between fabulous HDR effects and the SHADOW mask set to (medium) now that I like it that way the best, the sim is quite beautiful to fly over. I can only imagine it getting better, as 3rd Party creators for FSX, are probably...c'mon...they sure are...tapping into this forum to check the pulse for possibly supporting this product on a parallel course as FSX in further development.

This is a hand's down fabulous flight simulator, for the reasons that I choose and require. We all know, it is a very personal checklist that we run any flight simulator platform against, as to whether one would agree or not. But I can obviously within this post, only type at you all, for myself. It is a hand's down winner, and I will start now, filling it with 3rd Party that meets my needs, and that is truly right now, the North American continent. I am not dissing our European brothers, but only that I like to fly over familiar territory; that I like to shoot approaches that I do in real life through commercial and recreational travel. So, if any 3rd Party heavies are lurking here, I would like to order up  a plate of Pacific Northwest, of Central Rockies, of Northern Rockies.  Get the drift, lurkers? I'll buy your product for installation within the XP franchise and you can have another round of reaching into my wallet. Your decision, Your choice to support my opening up my wallet for those aforementioned regions.  One thing is clear...I very much like this flight simulator, and will be predominately now flying within its virtual spaces. I like the 64 bit world of flight simulation with no CTD's, no O.O.M's...no crashes when I (my own hand...) properly install add on payware and freeware. No crashes, and stellar system output. I'm will NOT go back to a new sim 32 bit operating environment. I will not buy or consider that product in any way. I have a 64 bit operating environment, and I want to go forward with native code supporting all that my system can pump out. No more 32 bit. That is in the rear-view mirror.  Happy flying everyone!

Sesquashtoo, and I will also answer the dinner gong as Mitch (wink).

1 word for you and I:  "THERAPY" or "BANKRUPT" from all the Payware of fs9/fsx and xp10.

Nah...I live to fly, and to eat good food, especially seafood!  Thank gawd, I also choose to hit the gym each day! :)

BTW, I have downloaded that private jet you highlighted, boy, is she a beaut!  I have set up the FMS from KFNT to KOAK, and have about 3.5 hours left into the flight, real time. I had the time this afternoon, so decided to settle in, and check out a trans-continental XP10'er. Thanks for posting that head's up further down the pages...  This might be my plane-of-choice so far, Five.

I completely agree.  XPX/64 simply kicks a**!!

I am flying FSX less and less, although I do enjoy the Majestic Q400 and NGX until the OOMs come to visit.

I still fly FSX on small GA aircraft that don't strain the resources, but I'm definitely moving much more to XPX/64 and I'm also looking to buy good quality 3rd party payware for it.

Thanks, Five. That was the one, but could not remember the name as I posted about it.  A great effort, and Freeware yet!  Thanks to the author!!!  I took it to KOAK, and then imagined I had some great Calamari at Pier 14
