New heading given middle of flight ?

Featured Replies

Hi All

I have done 2 flights with voxatc- both planned using fsc 9.2.

On both occasions the start is as expected but a short distance after take off voxatc tries to vector me off the flight plan ,it issues new headings which will turn me back.

Can somebody please advice a solution.

That happens if you don't seem to pass a waypoint during your departure. I have this, on occasion, too and told Tegwyn (VoxATC's creator) about it.

I'm new to this Vox ATC.. I am thinking about joining you guys in using it.. Sounds like though you guys are experiencing alot of issues with it though is there really that many issues with it ??

Also can you still use UT2 along with it ?? I mean I have ut2 for having other airline flying along side me like other company aircraft like I fly United aircraft & like to be able to see my other company aircraft as well as other airlines flying too make it seem more real.. I know it says it comes with its own AI are those actual airline or default Orbit & such made up airline that it comes with & will it work with UT2 aircraft ?

Also when at the gate just like in real life, can you request for Pushback clearance ??

Also once on final approach or once talking to ground with being able to actually speak to FSX ATC through Vox ATC can you let them know which gate your going to like for example: Say I'm doing a flight PHX-IAH & I'm suppose to be arriving according to United.com time table at C-35, now with the default ATC that comes with FSX, they give you a random gate & you basically can't even request taxi to gate other wise they'll give you some off the wall random gate but with this VOX ATC can you finally be guided to your actual gate that your suppose to go to ??

I almost forgot, I was going to ask.. Is there a special program I have to use in order to make a IFR flightplan in order for Vox ATC to work or can I still continue to use simroutes.com I normally get my routes from Flightaware & then type the same route into simroutes.com in order for default FSX ATC to recognize it.. Will this one work the same way or do I have to do it another way ??

Hi,

Here are a few answers:

As far as I know, VoxATC will use the UT2 planes (after you run the UT2Bridge program) if you have them, but control them themselves. I don't know much about this part of the program, others may have more info.

Here is the general flow for an IFR flight:

- Listen to ATIS

- Contact clearance and do radio check

- Obtain clearance which typically is based on a SID

- Request start and pushback (it does NOT do the pushback for you). I use GSX for that.

- Request taxi clearance

- Request runway crossings (or being told to hold for clearance to cross)

- Maybe being ask to hold for landing /starting traffic before getting takeoff clearance

- Getting FL clearances while climbing to cruise altitude

- Being told to descend

- Being told what STAR to use and typically later what runway to use.

- Being vectored to the the runway.and getting clearance for final approach

- Being cleared to land

- Being told to turn off runway and contact ground

- Being told where to park and taxi route to there

It is possible to request other things while flying such as early descent and other stuff, I have not tried this much yet.

All the above is by voice commands and there are a lot of frequency changes to handle as well although you have a virtual First Officer that can switch frequencies for you if you want.

I do not think (but do not know for sure) that you can choose your destination gate yourself. I haven't tried that.

The way you get a flightplan into VoxAtc is by loading a FSX flightplan, save a flight, then Enable VoxATC. So if your program can export a FSX plan, (.pln file) then you are up and running. The plan does NOT include SID and STAR. VoxAtc assigns those based on the first and last waypoint in the route.

VoxATC is currently the best of the ATC programs I have, but it is by no means without its issues. It mostly works just fine for me, and if is trying to vector me into a mountain because it doesn't know about terrain, then I can fortunately just ignore it :)
