June 14, 201312 yr For the last couple months when I open FSX I've been having more and more frequent hanging issues. Sometimes I never got past the opening screen, sometimes after clicking an aircraft, and sometimes after entering a saved flight. Then I had to use Task Manager to escape the froze program. So I started the troubleshooting. After unplugging hardware one by one with no results I thought I would change my opening saved flight to a basic airstrip and default aircraft C172 and for the last week I've had no issues. For whatever reason changing my opening screen saved flight seems to have solved my problem. What's strange is that this is how I've always ran FSX and this problem just started getting progressively worse. Anybody else with similar situation or feedback on this topic?
June 14, 201312 yr Never set other than default aircraft in opening screen, it's a one of the very well known fsx issues Zeljko Budovic
June 15, 201312 yr So change aircraft, once the game has started? Yes. You can save default flight at some aeroport with default cessna. This is a good idea becouse there are some payware aircrafts which requires some additional steps to work well. For example, Leonardo Maddog: You need to set everything via Manager&Setup, then load default cessna at some airport and perform complete shut down to cold&dark state, all switches to off, avionics off... After that from FSX menu(press "alt" if you don"t see menu) select Madoog and everyhing will be set like in Manager. Otherwise, fuel, pax etc will be at default value(100% fuel etc). Just one example. But anyway, setting addon plane for default flight is looking to trouble Zeljko Budovic
