  1. I had sent an email to Creative about their USB card and they confirmed that using it would not solve my problem of wanting to split the audio. I'm pretty confident this is something I just have to live with but I do appreciate the reply's.
  2. Actually just purchased OPUS and this may even be causing more issues with the audio. I'll continue to experiment.
  3. Thanks for the quick reply. I heard of that product and will check it out. Just to clarify what I'm trying to do. At times I have sound issues (excessive humming/clipping?) and don't know if it's because I''m splitting the audio output from my legacy audio output (on the motherboard). I send one side to the Buttkicker and the other to the Front Speakers of my sound system. I thought this might be the problem and maybe even a ticket to better sound quality.
  4. I have a question I'm hoping someone can give me an answer to. Is there a way to split the audio output in FSX to separate the signals going to both my Buttkicker and 5.1 Sound System. Currently I'm using a splitter plugged in my motherboard Legacy Audio Output. Some people suggest buying a Creative Go Pro USB card, but inside the FSX program you have to choose one device for 'voices' for which I use USB headphones for ATC, and one device for 'sound'. Of course my selection is the Legacy Audio. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Scott
  5. I as well have been dealing with this. I have my IR-5 programmed with a file I downloaded called 'Seth' that seems to give me the viewing freedom that works best for me. Many others have downloaded this file. I think it's just gonna take a steady head along with a little practice. But that darn shimmering...... I also have the pause programmed as well as reset and use this for takeoff. Good Luck
  6. For the last couple months when I open FSX I've been having more and more frequent hanging issues. Sometimes I never got past the opening screen, sometimes after clicking an aircraft, and sometimes after entering a saved flight. Then I had to use Task Manager to escape the froze program. So I started the troubleshooting. After unplugging hardware one by one with no results I thought I would change my opening saved flight to a basic airstrip and default aircraft C172 and for the last week I've had no issues. For whatever reason changing my opening screen saved flight seems to have solved my problem. What's strange is that this is how I've always ran FSX and this problem just started getting progressively worse. Anybody else with similar situation or feedback on this topic?
  7. This plane is absolutely. gorgeous. Visuals and sounds are fantastic. Have a few issues that hopefully get resolved with an update, mostly switches and having to start with a default Cessna. You can't get better value for your money than this. As some others have noted you can help yourself with the difficult steering and modify the aircraft.cfg file if you don't mind cheating a bit. Makes things a lot easier in small airstrips. Changing 180 to 50 worked great for me as well.
  8. Sorry to break the bad news but its no longer available. Gotta use REX or equivalent.
  9. Saitek and CH are adequate lower end hardware. The 'throw' is less than the higher priced alternatives and the plastic is upgraded to very nice steel and cast materials which has a very realistic feel. All around just a higher quality but at a price.
  10. Sounds like I gotta get this. In FSX by default the A and S keys change views. Can you program say 3 views and scroll thru with one key press? Screenshots welcome! Thanks for the feedback. How does the weather processor compare to REX which I currently have?
  11. Without a doubt.
  12. I'm not familiar with Opus. I customize my views in the .cfg files and would like to know the advantages of this add on. I'm guessing maybe you can pan up and down where I'm limited to 3 axis being left/right, up/down and forward/aft.
  13. I noticed the PNG scenery has lots of airstrips in the package. Unfortunately nothing difficult is shown in the screenshots. Are we talking about numerous short runways with inclines and difficult approaches with trees etc? It looks interesting. I agree that ORBX doesn't offer a lot of difficulty, but I find between adding some wind conditions and bringing in the RealAir Duke (for example) into Fall City I can get, at times more than I bargained for.
  14. I have a 'Colt' in my sights............SibWings rocks!
