Aerosoft Anchorage X

Featured Replies

It's possible, I run PANC with Alaska X and Orbx Alaska with constant 30FPS in any GA plane, with extremely dense autogen, around 25FPS in the NGX(normal autogen settings). All I did was changing the special type of autogen to normal autogen for the Ancourage area in the ATX control panel, also disabled some traffic around the airport(have to make some comprimises)...

That's great but I don't own UT Alaska, my pics above are just PANC payware with vanilla FSX surroundings.

Still haven't seen proof from any of you like I show so I still don't believe most of you. :(

Hold on I'll give you proof, give me 10 minutes, I find it rude that you suggest we are lying. What intrest would we have in doing that?

Edit: her you go

Running live weather a2a P51 and Orbx Alaska activated+UT Alaska and autogen extremely dense...

Thank you ******* and Word Not Allowed :im Not Worthy:

You actually ruined one of my flights just because I had to stop and go to PANC and take these shoots for you :P

Is city of Anchorage FSX default OR part of Aerosoft Anchorage X?  The city landscape does not look good to me. Look at my screenshot showing FSX default Anchorage:

I certainly hope my 20 buck purchase of Aerosoft Anchorage X is worth the price.

Aerosoft ancourage doesn't do anything to downtown ancourage it just covers the airport and a small area around it with phototextures...

I don't see waht looks better in your screenshoots, my screens are taken just around the airport far away from where your shoots are taken, also I had forgot to defog the windows in the p51 and it was la little hazy and overcast so the screenshoot may look a little "washed".

But this airport is 100 times better than default, thrust me...Take a sweep over PANC and then compare screenshoots and you will see.

If I had taken the shoots from where you have the it would be out of the coverage of Aerosoft PANC, the "city" shoot you see I took is just outside the aiport fence as I was circling around it. I haven't taken any shoots of the city itself..

okay  no problem

What do you mean that you forgot to "defog"???  What is defog??  Are you saying you used foggy conditions in your screenshot which might explain lack of sharp detail of the city streets and you forgot to deactivate foggy conditions?

Same here. I think I made very similar changes to you and get good results. The biggest frame killer for me was ground scenery shadows after making the necessary tweaks to both sceneries.

AlaskaModels2 is the "Environmental Preset" I loaded in the Ultimate Alaska setup tool which gives great performance.

This is with MyTraffic 2013 (@ 50%), Alaska Airlines NGX B737, REX OD/HD 2048 textures, Alaska X, and Anchorage X: (frames anywhere from 22-27) and they get better during taxiing and departure. At the gate in the NGX VC FPS will dip down to 17 which is fine with me while parked.

Thank you for the pics, with these you just helped me figure out what my main issue is.

I go from 15fps to 23fps simply by turning Water from 2xMax to 2xHigh. Tons better now all over the area.

This the first situation where I've seen water making such a huge difference in frame rates. Bet this will help in Ketchikan too.

Edit: Yup, changes from 14 to 22fps in Ketchikan.

Lol, yes it was a little hazy weather so that may explain why the streets does'n look that sharp. By defog I mean my cockpit windows was covered with mist/fog as I forgot to turn on the heater in the A2A P51 before I took off.. And my screens was just to illustrate what FPS I have not to make it look the best as it can be... Also my ENB settings may blur the textures a little bit...

Yes, the max water setting can eat frames not just in PANC but many other places too, I would never use that setting anywhere....

"2xHigh is what I use always  Glad you got sorted and getting better performance. Turning of some of the traffic around the aiport can also give you some more frames...

Here is what it looks like with max visability and with ENB

and here is one without ENB

If this is not better than default, I don't know what is...

Also I notice that it looks sharper when I see it ingame so I think some details get lost in compressing the image to jpeg.

Don't you think a payware software should offer something better than FSX default??

Yes I do and I think Aerosoft PANC looks 100 times better than the default airport, it offers a phototreal area around the airport that the default scenery does not and the airport itself is as close to real as it can get....

Offcourse I have seen better phototextures out there but often this has something to do with the available data etc. Still thinks the textures look very nice and it give a much more realistic feel than just the default scenery because the roads, houses are lined up as they would be in real life.

I think this is something that is a problem with the photo data available in Alaska, if you look at the Orbx photoreal areas in Alaska compared to the photoreal area around PNW payware airports you can really see how much better/sharper phototextures they have there versus in FTX Alaska.

Here is an example of Orbx downtown Ancourage as you can see these photo textures also looks a little washed out so I think it has something to do with the available data for the Ancourage area. But I still think it looks a 100 times better than default because all the buildings are correctly lined up with the roads and stuff(Photoreal!), something the default scenery can't give you.

So I totally disagree with you that the default representation of Ancourage looks better..Infact, excuse my Language, I think the default looks like crap!
