FS2AUDIO.dll crash in-flight

Featured Replies

Hi there,

FS9 with FS2CREW Button just crashed on me in-flight, after starting the Descent checklist. See the crash report below. Didn't have this prolem in a previous flight on the same day. However, I installed the newest version update 2.2 on top of update 2.1 after this fligth, which might have been the issue?!

Just now I reinstalled FS2Crew incl. the most recent v2.2 ontop without the 2.1 update, but I still need to check whether it works again.

Any ideas about the issue will be highly appreciated. :)

Cheers,

Andreas

I had this bizarre FS2Audio.dll crash pop up in FSX a few weeks ago. Try as I might, I couldn't resolve it, even after replacing the dll itself. I ended up reinstalling FSX.

I'm told that the dll has something to do with button click sounds. Beyond that, I'm not sure what that silly file does, although I do know that it's not unique to FS2Crew.

The DLL handles all FS2Crew sounds, not just button click sounds.

You guys have the latest update installed?  Ensure you do.

If the crash is happening during the Descent checklist, it's crashing because there is a problem with the landing altitude as read out of the FMC...  basically a value gets sent to the audio engine that the audio engine can't handle.

What was the value for the landing altitude?

Okay, the crash is 'perfectly' reproducible. It occurs after the descent checklist is initiated and the FO tested the emergency lights.

Landing altitude is -11 at EHAM. Could this be the issue? Everything is done and set according to the manual, before activating the checklist.

Do you need my order number for further support?

Regards,

Andreas

RMK: Latest update is installed on top of v1.6, freshly downloaded from Aerosoft.

It did happen with 2.2 installed. I will try today with only 1.6 installed and let you know.

I've flown the same route into EHAM again with v1.6 and the crash does NOT occur. Hence, the problem most likely is related to the update 2.1 and 2.2. Hope it helps to solve the issue.

Andreas

edit

would a work around be to skip the decent check list going into EHAM or any other Minus elev Airport? or do we need to run it ?

Just revert back to the previous 1.6 version which works fine. I think its a calculation error related to the negative altitude of EHAM.

edit: Grammar
