My How Things Change Over 22 Years!

Recommended Posts

Came across this on another site, really hits home watching it how things have changed in the past 22 years in Aviation. It's amazing, to compare the A330 I currently fly to the 747-100 in the video. Old school doesn't come close to describing how it was done in this video... ^_^

Also funny how some things never change...

Really worth the watch if you have 20 minutes:

Interesting also to see how the quality of television images has changed since then.

"The day for our tran-atlantic pilot starts like many of us, breakfast with the family."

When I worked the line the latest I ever left for work was 4 in the morning. I don't think they would have liked me if I invited them to eat breakfast with me!

Great video. I'll finish up the rest of it tomorrow.

That's be the long haul LOL, we still have the 3 am starts...

It's quite nostalgic really, hard to believe it's been 22 years since that was shot, feels like only a few months ago...

Interesting to see the Twin Towers in the back of the New York Skyline...  :(

Also it's funny to hear the Captain giving the Radio Altimeter call outs "50, 30, 20, 10, sure about 5 *hit's runway* ".  ^_^

Yeh, we really lead the lead the way, introducing the 747-100 fifty years before anyone else got one...

Funny listening to the music at the introduction and thinking back to how modern that must have sounded back then, even looking at the cars, the vans, the old livery. It's all a real throw back to the good old days. Hard to think that was just 3 years before we introduced the A330, seems like a generation earlier...
