Carenado has converted around 10 of their planes to X-Plane. Download the XP10 demo, fly through a thunderstorm (or even better don't do it ) and test the weather capabilities. You don't need addon planes for testing the weather, the default planes like the King Air or Baron 58 are fully sufficient for a start.
